Turns out I was mistaken and nos.lol is not associated with the commies over @ nos.social

Not malicious.

Nos.social however is a malicious client run by extreme leftist ideologues. Avoid at all costs.

Still not as shitty as Primal

Nos.social is running a communist censorship regime. No it’s not a good option. It’s an anti-free speech bastardization of nostr’s ideals.

That (censoring) is happening at the client level. Personally I have no expectations for all clients to be censorship resistant. All that matters is the protocol is censorship resistant for the all encompassing clients (w/o censorship) to build atop #nostr

Sure, but also we have an obligation to speak out against clients who’s values don’t align with the principles of anti-censorship

I dont know about being obligated, but the right and ability to point it out without being censored is there. #bitcoin and #nostr are for our “enemies” too. Comes with open-source territory.

Maybe I misunderstand, I thought it was user choice. Is it from the company level?

I mean I only actively use damus and primal

Choosing to interact with the bot is a user level interaction. How the bot is written is a decision by rabble.

Still sounds like an opt-in user option to me.

Anyone can use nostr, build on it, and choose to use tools like that even if you or I disagree with it.

I’d have to do more research and look into it, I haven’t yet. But I probably wouldn’t use it or feel the need to. Mute or unfollow is good enough for me for the time being

Sure, that said it’s still a commie tool for commie blue hairs and I’m going to keep denouncing it often and loudly.

Lol hey leave the blue hairs outta this!

nostr is for free speech 🤝

Free speech doesn't mean I'm obligated to listen to you bud.

No one said it did bud

What an odd week on nostr, the reply guy, commies running a client...

100% this.

I don’t agree with you regarding nos.social, but it’s fine to have an opinion.

Nostr is for everyone.

That’s cool. You’re wrong though.

From all the cultural elements you could have copied from liberals, you seriously choose to copy cancel culture. The irony 😅

Anyway, 🍻

I’m not cancelling anyone. I’m just letting people know what’s up with that client. It’s free to continue operating and being terrible

This is not something about being right or wrong. Or white or black. Or left or right. Or winning or losing. Etc. Nostr is && not !==

This is an issue wannabe content moderators shouldn't take lightly.

I find it ironic that those on the left will do everything possible to avoid incorrectly labelling someone's immutible and irrelevant physical characteristics. However, when it comes to labelling someone's intentions, character, or soul - the characteristics of actual importance - suddenly their actions suggest "fuck the mislabeled".

We should call out this behavior loudly and often.

Nostr, you shouldn't use these features or nos until they correct this functionality and explain themselves.

That all being said, horrible client side content moderation isn't really an attack on nostr. It's only an attack on that client's user base.

Well said.

Catering to the libs of nostr. Sad.
