Here’s my write-up for Politico of #[0] ‘s NOSTR habit and our Friday interview about it.

What else should I know about NOSTR and the evolution of the internet?

My dude, activate the Lightning/Zapping integration so I can send you a tip!

“the calm after the…posting tsunami.”

No more closed interviews. Brilliant.

😂 I love the tsunami posts! 💜

Btw Ben, check out Nostr.net , it gives a great overview of Nostr. Nostr is being built as we type. Lots of client devs & tool devs building for various user segments. What you see today will be diff from tmr because that how fast the speed of being built is here.

For example, you can check out tools #[4]

has built for various engagements (he hasn’t consolidated all yet!) - it’s incredible to see people building out of passion and testing the market. #[5] is another tool dev that focuses on discovery. Diff use cases are being created everyday - hang around and you will get to experience many diff waves of user segments joining in 🫂

Great job, fair and balanced!

Word of advice - Bitcoin is money, don't fall prey to that bullshit journalist ethic line about not accepting or buying BTC to retain your journalistic integrity.

I've seen a handful of really smart tuned in journalists go from unbiased about Bitcoin at $10 to anti-Bitcoin at $10,000.

By not owning bitcoin, you will actually be just as biased as you watch the price climb to $1 million over the next 8 years.

Do yourself a favor and get over that now. Nothing you say can influence Bitcoin.

It’s too big for that - don’t ruin your chance at generational wealth because you wanted to live up to some Boomer’s flawed standard of journalistic ethics.

I own digital assets. There’s a disclaimer at the bottom of the newsletter.

Gotcha - so setup an LNurl

Address, maybe use wallet of Satoshi, so we can zap you!

And thanks! Glad you enjoyed the piece

Not only that, but with the same logic, owning dollars would make you unable to opine about the entire current financial system in general. Peoples thought patterns amaze me. 🤷🏼‍♂️

thanks for your work!

Try #[3] so you can start accepting #zaps

This^ super simple and will help you further understand why nostr is so exciting ⚡️⚡️⚡️

...but don't keep a lot of sats on custodial wallets

Good job. You should have set up a lightning wallet and tried it out first though!

⚡️⚡️⚡️

Good article. This is the way. Open, transparent, and permissionless. Liking Jack more every day.

Great write up! Looking forward to zapping you in the future!⚡️⚡️⚡️

As other (hundreds of) nostriches will point out - you should set up lightning address on your profile so you can receive value for the value you provide to others 😉

Note here that you will get practically 100% of the value vs how much you get with old-school media (how much of that value is your boss getting? How much the stakeholders? How much banks?). Also note that you get the value directly from people anywhere in the world, there are folks here from Africa, large community in Asia, many of the developers are from Central/South America.

No one is excluded. Now this makes one think about why do we exclude so many people in the current "old-school" system? For what reasons? Are those just? What if I'm a woman in Iran? What if I don't have an ID? What if I'm one of the ~10M stateless people that don't have any citizenship?

Love it

Setup as lnurl for ⚡️

Set up a lightning address with Alby so you can get direct #value4value from readers. You can hook it up with Zeus on mobile. Alby also has node management if you run your own lightning node.

Thank you for your article on Nostr. The more people outside our Bitcoin and tech bubble that learn about the benefits of Nostr (decentralization and censorship resistance) the better. 🫂

brilliant

The ease of writing software that can post notes, interact with them, remix different protocols in a distributed and resilient way is going to be the superpower

Great interview. Thank you both for doing this. Open interviews is a neat way forward.

Great piece. As others have mentioned already, you should set up zaps so we can tip you for the article. Micropayments are the future.

#[2] I’m curious. As a journalist, what are your thoughts on an open interview like that. Pros/cons?

素晴らしい記事でした❗️ありがとう😆🎉

“…the head of Twitter’s old management.”

So fitting to the image 😂 looks like someone (legendarily known) from “prior management” LOL

Nice article.

Nice format too, re open note interviews as it keeps the context for everyone.

And just a tip: Bitcoin literacy is important here. Backlash can be harsh if you butcher our terms. Such is the frontier…

Enjoyed your article mate. Zapped

Enjoyed the read - well done.
