It's wild to me to hear politicians hinting at the possibility of armed conflict with China over Taiwan in the name of "national security", when by "national security" they really just mean the ability of US corps to use global labor arbitrage to get cheap silicon for their products so they can maximize their profits. Like, if Apple, Google, etc need Taiwanese silicon to keep their companies in the black, then they can feel free to send security forces over there. Don't ask me to help pay for it.
Maybe we can convince NPR to come on over.
