If I want to pay someone sats and they do not have a wallet yet, what is the most straight-forward (and still secure) way to set them up with a wallet?
In the US, they have an Android, probably not super computer-savvy

Primal created a wallet for me so I could receive sats on Nostr
yes, though I did not want to get into a whole NOSTR conversation with him
I’d have framed it as a way to take small payments until he need a “bigger wallet”
Lightning ⚡ [Coinos](https://coinos.io) or [walletofsatoshi](https://www.walletofsatoshi.com/)
OnChain :bitcoin: [Blue wallet](https://bluewallet.io/)
Both: [muun wallet](https://muun.com/)
What's your take on Muun? I have used in the past, but have been told that "it is not really lightning" ?
Yes I second the primal recommendation. I couldn't get the other options to work because I am a bit slow in tech matters.
BlueWallet, accessed through their website/Playstore is straightforward.
Does #cashu work for this case? Because if so, boardwalk.cash or cashu.me
I honestly do not know anything about cashu
Cashu "tokens" (long strings of letters and numbers, like an nsec) are bearer assets, exchangeable via a mint for a backing currency like Bitcoin.
So you can share a token with your friend in any manner at all (text, email, etc) but the easiest way is by using something like boardwalk.cash which will hold their hand through a claiming process
Oh boardwalk looks nice, but I had to double-check the URL. It’s https://boardwalkcash.com (not dot cash, which looks parked )
Ah thanks!
