Running a node is a kinda of pointless activity. Self validating transactions is the true "Running A Node", for that you want a safe computer and you don't need to do it all the time.
How about for a node NVK? Motherboard with CoreBoot to try and neutralize Intel ME, then load Start9 OS? Or do we just assume the NSA has backdoors into all our systems aka we can secure our private keys (coldcard) but privacy from the gov is fucked.

What else do people do when running a node but self validating transactions? Isnβt that the whole point? Perhaps besides also doing lightning stuff.
Thanks for the answer. I think see what you are saying, that's really good. Gives me a lot to think about.
I understand why we push "hold your own keys" education so hard, that has to happen first. But there really needs to be more education out there about "safe computers" and "privacy while interacting with your utxo's". I'm sure nostr:npub1qny3tkh0acurzla8x3zy4nhrjz5zd8l9sy9jys09umwng00manysew95gx would agree. I have more to learn.
