The fact that so much of the world uses Microsoft windows makes me lose faith in humanity a bit tbh

Like the UX isn't even better than Linux honestly, I can at least understand using Mac

the UX is worse

product designers think they know anything or have usability theories, but all they have is status quo bias

Yeah certain Linux distros have fantastic UX

Online PVP gaming and HDR support

Most people around the world can't afford Apple products

Plenty of Linux distros look like macOS

QubesOS only - please don't use CSS blur or transparency for better website scrolling experience

The fact that since Windows 11 has been released three years ago, only 30% of people have upgraded from Windows 10... brings back a little faith in humanity.

I actually prefer the UX of windows 11. Not as good as PopOS though

Until it's upgraded to 11 by either not asking or by using dark patterns to trick you into accepting it, like they did with 7 -> 10, yeah they got sued, but I bet it was still worth it.

It’s just what people are used to at this point, in the past Linux wasn’t very user friendly. People didn’t know how to even get it onto their machine

Most election voter id systems (ie digital voter rolls) are Windows based

Most of the world does not even know what an operating system is and their user experience is just Google chrome.

Totally. Our CTO at the company I work at is such a Microsoft fan boy. Everything is Windows and Azure and Teams/SharePoint. I run Linux primarily at home and have been quietly protesting with WSL on my work PC lol.

Because gaming on Linux is crap. I wish we all just used Linux. PopOS is as good as Mac (though I haven’t used it in more than a year)

To be fair, Windows doesn't require regular interactions with a text terminal to do basics. "Follow these instructions to add a repository so that..." yeah no.
