sakhalin.nostr.1.com and nostr.wine were my best investments, which inspired me to start a relay physically located in Russia (this is the fifth Russian relay, the previous four are not very alive). This turned out to be easier than I thought, but a few difficulties occurred. Can strfry give a bit more information on NIP-11 like "posting policy" or "icon"? nostr:npub10npj3gydmv40m70ehemmal6vsdyfl7tewgvz043g54p0x23y0s8qzztl5h can I use your spamblaster without Go skills? ☺️

My relay will be free (because I am not allowed to accept bitcoins for the service under Russian law, not because I don't like sats 😔) and premoderated (this is also due to local realities).

I'll probably use it for a month to test and experiment, and then I'll invite users there.

Why do you care if it’s legal or not? Get a raspberry pi, plug it into an anonymous SIM card-powered lte modem and help others to enjoy freedom.

Because I want my relay in a legal field, so that no one in authority would think that Nostr is something marginal and fight against it.

In the design elements I use images of cute animals and butterflies. The site description says that relay is perfect for finding friends, for education, sports, fishing, fun parties. That Nostr is not a tool of Western propaganda, but a way for Russians to talk about themselves.

Also, the domain registrar has my full name and real address, and I'm willing to remove any content 😅 at the first request of the authorities (any).

All together will not cause any suspicion and in case of blocking of external services my relay will continue to work.

wss://sakhalin.nostr.1.com will continue to work for some time. It is also pre-moderated there, but for different reasons. It is only for residents of Sakhalin. This relay is not subject to Russian laws.

Well, then come to Sakhalin. There are excellent eco-tourism options, though very expensive 🤔 I would consider such a trip more like an extreme tourism.

Yes you can use spamblaster on your own relay. I will look at doing binary releases for that so it's easier.

To serve nip-11 with extra stuff beyond what strfry offers you have to have the proxy serve that page. I did this for relay tools, might be worth mentioning it in the strfry group which extra fields would be nice to have available like policy.

Hm, curious, it should compile ok.. what version of go are you running? I have been using 1.21. if you're on Ubuntu you can install it with a snap.
