To be honest I don’t want to do either lol

It sounds scary! Not the dishes obviously…😁

True😆

Most people like the IDEA of doing ayahuasca. Few actually take the leap….

(And if they do, most do it in someone’s living room in Malibu or Manhattan with a travelling “shaman”) 🤣

But the dishes bit is funny! 🎯

Have you done it!!?

Stumbled clumsily into the work in my early 50’s at the beginning of Covid. In Costa Rica.

The most brutal, confronting series of nights I could have imagined. Both my wife and I wanted to run as fast and far as we could after the second night. But somehow we knew we had to stay.

It saved our marriage in many respects. And then, over the next 18 months, we returned with our 3 sons. Raw but beautiful. “Humbling” doesn’t even begin to describe it.

The depth of this work is not for “everyone” but it is for “anyone”.

I’ve witnessed so much deep and genuine intergenerational and societal healing in these ceremonies that it just rocks me to the core of my existence.

It gives me a hope for humanity and our combined future that I can only compare to what I sense is emerging with Bitcoin, to be honest.

Thanks for asking. Felt good to write that. 😌

God bless you sister 🙏🏻💓

great description 🙏

Incredible. Thank you for sharing 😘

my guy was traveling.

but traveling from Peru, he knew all the songs and brewed the medicine down there and put it in his luggage 😂

was convinced the plant spirits protected him from TSA

I was too pithy and dismissive of traveling shaman. Sorry.

There is good work being done there.

Dangerous/unsafe work as well.

I suppose I/we just need to trust. Pachamama/the medicine has a plan 🪬😉

its pretty fair to be dismissive I think.

peoples be cooking in their dirty apartments and all...

We have retreats nearby Brisbane where it is done...but imagine the experience with 32 other people. Hmmmm

Santo Daime retreats?

My first time was in a group of about 20. It really depends if the shaman is capable of holding the space for so many.

Good physicians are hard to find.

I know people who have been to this one https://ayahuascagoldcoast.com

What…so you’ve done it multiple times!?

do you trust the people you know who have gone?

No

👎

Everyday tasks like the dishes can be our best teachers for equanimity and meditation if we allow them to

The dishes arise to pass away, as is the case with everything in life

(I've volunteered at meditation retreats doing dishes for over 100 people for over a week a few times, so can confirm lol)

Always cool when I post a joke but get some deep learning from people on the other side of world xo

So true

facts

do the fucking dishes

(full disclosure. i do not have a dishwasher)

No way!

Same. Dishwashers are fucking gross, physically and spiritually.

my ma loves her dishwasher 🙄

By chance, does she have IBS or some other bowel disfunction?

I have a dishwasher. I feel guilty now 😂

Well, do you or any one you wash dishes for have bowel problems? Dish washer detergents often leave a saponin residue or glaze on them, stuff to leave them sparkly shiny or crystal clear or whatever. Saponins cut fat and break surface tension of fluids, so they can damage the mucous membrane in your gut. This can cause all sorts of bowel problems like IBS. If anyone in your household deals with anything like that, try cutting out the dishwasher, or rinsing the dishes really good after they come out and see if the problems alleviate.

Yeah I’ve had gut problems all my life but we didn’t have a dishwasher when I was young.

Interesting though…there’s some good alternative ‘chemical free’ dishwasher detergents here I’ve been meaning to try.

pretty healthy old lady tbh

I am conflicted. Some meat bags are not thorough enough dish washers, which means the electric dish washer can be an improvement. However a detail oriented and/or well trained meat bag is always superior to an electric dish washer.

The word "dishwasher" is interesting when considering how to objectify the task. Are humans dishwashers or dish washers? A dishwasher is obviously a dishwasher though.

I am also now, conflicted 😂

‘Meat bags’ wtaf 😂😂😂

Ehh, it blasts very hot water on your dishes for an hour, there's nothing wrong with that. I use salt, baking soda, and citric acid in the dispenser.

Using harsh, toxic chemicals is no bueno tho

Its a box, it costs a lot of money, takes up space in your house. It wastes water, it gets mucky inside and you have to clean it every so often which of course you put off. It is a mechanical system that requires maintenance and repair. It encourages you to just set dishes in the sink for later rather than washing them as you use them. It takes away your attention to detail to your belongings, the tactile interaction you have with important things in your life. And then, of course, the detergents, not just what's in them but the consumerism of pods, pod commercials, thinking to yourself when you see an ad "hmm I should try those" lol just all round I don't like them. I know it's a weird thing to have such a strong opinion on.

Please tell me you have a washing machine though?

Well, i live in a little community right now and there's a laundromat. I used to do it in a bucket with a plunger hand washer thing, but that was when I was single. Works as good as a real washer if you're only washing a couple shirts and pants. Hand washing clothes for an entire family with kids is untenable.

I don't want a drier though, they use a lot of energy and damage your clothes. Gonna switch to clotheslines only soon, that's not too labor intensive and your clothes last longer.

100% agree a clothes drier is gross!

even I will make allowance for washing machines

i have 1 spOrk, 1 C-uP, 1plATE*****shARE the dOpEE***** 😜

jk guys/guisE*****

I got a dishwasher 😉

I love shitting my pants! Dishes-shmishes...

😂 yeah with my gut health I’m the queen of sharting

Like, the dishes from making the Ayahuasca? Or just in general? Nonetheless, I hate washing dishes and long live the dishwasher 🙌🏻

lol no 😂
