I guess it’s time for an #introduction. I’m Ash, I live on a small homestead in Northern Maine. My husband and I met on a white water canoe trip many, many years ago, hence the name of our farm. I’m a homeschooling Mom of two teenagers who really don’t need me for that purpose anymore, but I digress. I grew up on a farm, spent my husband’s military years between Maine and Alaska learning whatever skills I could to be as self sufficient as possible, and now we’ve gotten to settle in our forever home carving a little homestead out of the Maine woods. We’re not off grid but we try really hard to raise most of our own food. I’m a soap and salve maker, my husband is a Maine Guide, and we operate a small firewood business. Looking forward to sharing a little bit of our lifestyle with you. I’m very happy to have finally taken the time to join Nostr. Any suggestions as to who to follow would be greatly appreciated!

If you find someone you like or find some good people using tags #homesteading you can look at who those people follow which are likely to be people you would like to follow.. If you use tags on your posts, other people can find you and follow you. Then you follow them back.
Maine is a great place. When my youngest was young (he has down syndrome) he had lots of health problems and had to be on oxygen 24/7. When we would visit family in Florida, he could be off oxygen during the day. We live in Wyoming at a mile high. We didn't think it was fair to make him be connected to oxygen 24/7 if moving to sea level would allow him to be off during the day and started considering where we might go. We were leaning towards Maine, but luckily he got healthy and we didn't have to move.
Welcome to Nostr!! There are communities of all sorts here - Nostr is like a digital Swiss Army knife.
I personally draw, sew, and make music. Everything I do I post with hashtags

You’ll find a lot of answers here - if you need assistance with setting up a lightning wallet, selling things you make, etc, just put #asknostr at the end of your post and you’ll get responses quick. Again, welcome!
