Some days it’s really disheartening to realize just how stupid most people are, and that those are the same people who have the strongest opinions about things.

Nah. These are bugmen. Bugmen will bug. Hence, it becomes adiaphora.

Great word.

Adiaphora are the indifferent things in lutheran theology but I used it to mean things that are irrelevant in life or the world.

Bugmen come straight from Bronze Age Mindset…

Its mind blowing.

So true man.

it’s so frustrating. I rage deleted all my socials the other day after having a less than enriching interaction with a retard in the wild

Good Morning.

Have you ever read The Righteous Mind by Jonathan Haidt? I think he does a great job exploring how emotional responses shape our thinking process.

First, you have an emotional reaction to something, then you try to logically justify that emotion, which ultimately becomes your opinion.

I think that's exactly what's happening with Ross. Trump pardoned him, libertarians are celebrating, and these morons have a negative emotional response to that. Then they scramble to rationalize their feelings, which leads them to the worst opinion imaginable.

It all starts with beliefs.

From the beliefs, feelings thoughts & actions arise.

He's right, the human mind is not as rational as we'd like to believe. The feeling does generally arrive first & the thoughts are often used justify the feeling & the belief itself.

Some folks strongly identify with their beliefs. It forms part of who they believe they are. They will defend their beliefs like it's them being attacked.

For most people, beliefs are simply accumulated from their family & social groups. This makes many people fairly easy to manipulate because they acquire beliefs like a kid in a candy store.

I think Dunning Kruger is extremely strongly expressed with shitcoiners and tradfi investors. It is an exercise in futility talking to them.

Haha gm

I feel that. The things unthinking people say can really hurt. I often don't really know what the best course of action to take is. I always feel an instinctual need to retaliate and lash back, but there's another quieter part in me that tells me that's not the way.

I think it's best to not engage. I say just feel the pain, let it break your Heart. The Heart is truly indestructible, it will heal and come back stronger and more invigorated. Truth and Beauty will become more visible and accessible to you. And those who made the nasty comments will be left weaker and sadder.

It really sucks that it's come to a point where I have to tell my mom to shut the fuck up now and then.

I tried for years to dispel her illusions with facts, logic and history but no success. So my solution is if she wants to tell me personal stories that's fine but the moment she starts to talk about basically anything that's going on in the world I immediately stop her now, because all this results in is her going into npc mode the second I reply with what I believe. Refuses to ever let me finish a point, argues and makes my daughter wonder why we're fighting.

All that shit is exactly what the fuckers want. No more.

George Carlin: "Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize that half of them are stupider than that."

Then look in the mirror

Intelligence comes with self-awareness, critical thinking and ability to humble your self to the reality and adapt your opinion each and every minute as the reality changes. Those virtues are very hard to obtain and sustain - that’s why we live surrounded by ridiculous amount of stupidity

The loudest aren't always the correct ones.
