Long-form on nostr is really, really, really (really!) broken.
Discussion
How so?
I guess I'll just use nostr:nprofile1qqsrhuxx8l9ex335q7he0f09aej04zpazpl0ne2cgukyawd24mayt8gprfmhxue69uhkcmmrdd3x77pwve5kzar2v9nzucm0d5hszxnhwden5te0wpuhyctdd9jzuenfv96x5ctx9e3k7mf0qydhwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnhv4ehgetjde38gcewvdhk6tc4rdlnm's nak going forward and just use the file system.
That would work, or use this: https://github.com/jamesmagoo/nostr-writer
Thanks. I don't use Obsidian but if it gets the job done I might start using it.

Yeah, I'll do that. 100x better than anything else that exists.
If you're having trouble loading from Blossom these videos are also available on PLC:
Thanks, I'll that's great. I'll give all this a proper try and will report back.
Trying to read this article made me realize the web readers are also very bad. Too bloated, too buggy.
They also suck at rendering markdown. If I link to an image, most of them will render the image inline instead of rendering the link.
If there's npubs in there stuff will break often. It's such a mess. It's a large part of the reason why I didn't move my long-form stuff to nostr yet & why I don't publish any writing on nostr. Every time I try I get frustrated and conclude that it's not worth it.

Thought you might like this.
Iβm going to give it a try today.
Iβve never used Obsidian so Iβll see how it works.
In which way π€
All the editors suck. You can't even properly write it somewhere else and copy-paste it into something so it works.
To be fair I tried to use the Substack editor some days ago and it sucked too. Worse than sucking it kept showing stuff in front of me, notifications, prompts and whatnot.
Everything sucks and nobody's happy
On YakiHonne we have a solid editor, have you tried it before?
I do this all the time on habla. What client are you using?
The devs let habla.news and highlighter.com die a slow, agonising death
Only nostr:npub1yzvxlwp7wawed5vgefwfmugvumtp8c8t0etk3g8sky4n0ndvyxesnxrf8q remains
Yeah, but even YakiHonne won't allow me to copy-paste rich text into its editor. I'm not re-adding a hundred links by hand.
This!
Building a copy-paste π Nosciidic / Ndown editor
Can you copy-paste markup? If so, then you can probably use a markup generator for rich text π€

Lets keep it that way. Dont need people noting their entire books on here. Thats what #hellthreads are for. π«
Did you try the Pareto client?
Not yet. Will do.
It can handle rich text pasting it seems, but I'm on mobile right now so I can't double-click to set an image so I'm stuck.
"Double-touch" to select works for me on smartphone ... No?
Fixing it hard #Zaplab
if it sucks for you, then it is completely fucked for the average normie and no one should be surprised nostr is dead
I've had good luck writing a one-off piece every now and then, aside from the few well known quirks... but trying to do it more regularly... it's rough.
Yup...handling Markdown is quite a challenge with all those editors...
I've been struggling too finding just one that works...a WYSIWYG Markdown editor...

For the long-form content I'm cross-posting from https://nostrver.se/blog I use https://www.drupal.org/project/ckeditor5_markdown_editor but it does not handle any Nostr identifiers I paste there.
Problem is too that many client do handle those identifiers in different ways...
For example, when I post a njump markdown formatted link in the content, a part of that link (which refers to a Nostr event) gets rendered instead of showing the full link.
Clients or the NIP?
this is a good problem to have!
