This is all true, but I do like NIP-05...
As there is only one npub tied to "bitcoinpup" on my nostr.json file on bitcoinbarks.com, there is only one bitcoinpup@bitcoinbarks.com that will show up with a check mark.
I like that no one else can prove to be me.
I'm a nobody, and yet I have impersonators... Fortunately they aren't good at updating to reflect profile changes...

This is how NIP-05 is supposed to work. At least that's how I've always understood how it works and what it's suppose to represent. It supposed to be a domain you either directly control or directly represent. None of this twitter-handle-esque nonsense. That's what display names are for. That and verifying the npub.
You need to set up a lightning address! I had to like your reply instead of zapping you!

I don't deal in lighting. On-chain only.
You're missing out! It's fun...
Not that I'm going to tell anyone how they must or must not use bitcoin.

I don't use lightning because I think it tries to solve a problem that doesn't exist.
I suppose we all have our own problems and that dictates what we consider to be problems that require solving.
I know plenty of people who think that Bitcoin tries to solve a problem that doesn't exist...
I supose that is the long and short of it.
