Exactly. When you reply with Primal only the last npub you reply to is tagged. With other clients everyone stays tagged. Easier for threads with lots of people.

Damus is similar to Primal, faster. Nostur has way more features. Freerse is nice too. I haven’t used Yakihonne much but I hear good things. Depends what you prefer

Yeah the search, and I suppose displaying likes and zaps more accurately than damus is good. But I wait several seconds when I select a stream, and I don’t like the way it unfurls threads/replies (wanna see em all).

On Damus I usually see reaction counter at zero or very low, and if I react and then click to view it’ll then show closer to “global” stats. No? Have I been navigating blind all this time?

Do you use more than 10 relays? There’s a nostr wide bug for more than 10 relays and/or more than 1000 follows. Maybe that’s the issue you have. Maybe not

Sure. My outbox relay wont work for you and the paid ones will only work if you have a sub (filter wine, wine, nostr land)

Is there a breakdown of relays or relay setups like you just gave?

I have relays for days and need to clean them up to the ones that are solid.

Less than 10 relays (because of the bug)

You want a few big relays like damus or nos.lol, a few paid relays like wine or the filter (if you want). Some smaller like nostr.land or WoT. I like to have utxo’s news relay. And purplepages (for dsiscoverability) and hist.nostr.lan for backups. Last 2 aren’t necessary. I just find they make my life easier

After removing a few yesterday to get below 10, stuff seems to display a bit faster (reaction counts etc) but still off by quite a bit frequently until I click into it.

It honestly doesn’t really bother me that I’m flying a little blind, but is there something more I might be missing out on? Is this what paid relays deliver? Don’t have problem paying for one just not sure what I get for it

Paid relays usually have better spam control. Some have additional features like wine’s filter for example

Was just staying inside Damus. For example just scrolled down feed to a note posted 20 mins ago and it appears to have no interaction (no reaction, no reply, no zap). When i click on it I then see there’s a comment and a zap. Figured this was just the norm for nostr

When I compare primal to Damus (have a few times in past) it’s hard to really make sense how they differ, and not sure I care 😆 But maybe I should?

Don’t wanna turn this into a drawn out tech support thing for you, so no need to fully educate/fix. Ears open though

I don’t have an explanation for that unfortunately. Once Damus fully implements nostrdb (the thing will is working on), it’ll probably be more reliable. I get similar results on other clients. Although Nostur has an option for this (toggling on/off reactions in the feed)

Paid for nostr.wine. Can’t really tell for sure, but seems faster to update stats, but still only after I click into a post. Some posts are like that yes. Your client fetches the info once you click on it. Some clients, like Nostur have a setting where you can fetch the post statistics while scrolling in the feed
