I know there are court challenges to the constitutionality of this. But if the President can’t make cuts at this level, who can? All the incentives are broken for Congress to address a bloated government. I hope the courts consider this question in the coming months. At some point, some person or entity has to be able to shrink the federal govt without a constitutional amendment

There were other choices besides Trump.
The Republicans fucked it up. Trump was the worst choice, but they chose him because they knew they had no winner except someone that would lie and I promise everyone everything knowing everyone would believe what they wanted and write off the rest as "Just Trump."

I'm all for more efficiency and less corruption, but tasking the CEO of one of the largest government contractors to oversee government spending sounds like more corruption.

The more cutting the better. I’m afraid it won’t go nearly far enough, as the swamp (including congress) will fight back).
As of yet, I’ve not seen a single thing done that hurts a citizen.
And I’m not naive, in that at the end of this, we won’t have a perfect or near perfect republic (I really don’t believe in that), but it can be less bad. Less bad gives us more freedom, and more time to put our houses in order. More time - and maybe more fiat, from lower taxes and regulations, to stack more sats. Stay humble.
