Amber with no network permission (even better, on #GrapheneOS) is hands down the best tradeoff between convenience and security for nostr signing. I want the same for desktop.

Does amber work without network permission? I thought it had to communicate with a relay still

A native client and Amber could communicate directly, afaik.

That's what I would figure. The requesting app would be the one doing the connecting.

It does not need to communicate with a relay no. Unless you want to sign on the web, I prefer native always

igloo won't be that easy?

whats that

Dang! That would be amazing

Amber don't work properly without Internet access, it even doesn't like my frequent airplane mode toggles.

That doesn't sound right

Did you experience otherwise? What's it doing without connection to a relay?

It communicates with other Android apps via intents, it doesn't need a relay unless you use it as a remote signer

Can't test this right now as I'm not using my new Pixel with #GrapheneOS yet (the described problem I experience on another phone, really thought it's Amber not liking my airplane mode usage), but great if it really works that way.

There are variants of Amber, maybe you're using the remote signer one

Installed from F-Droid, currently v3.4.4, should be the right version.
