Vibe coding could be the major catalyst for nostr adoption

"im actually bearish on the 'consumers will all be prompting their own full apps' thing because most good apps require data and there is no such thing as real data portability for consumers."

A global data commons/backend solves this 𓅦𓅦𓅦

But you can't delete.

That’s feature, not a bug

nostr:npub18lzls4f6h46n43revlzvg6x06z8geww7uudhncfdttdtypduqnfsagugm3 when will Silicon Valley bros discover open and interoperable nostr?

How much does it hinge on a youtuber viber coder discovering nostr?

"You mean I can make a billion dollars on an app and pay no money for its infrastructure?!'

I hear we already got one ;) nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7etyv4hzumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgqg7waehxw309anx2etywvhxummnw3ezucnpdejz7ur0wp6kcctjqqstwz8h8yh43pqxyykr3qh8kw7qmxcg6chet7shp5yezflvufmsuhs8c55a2

We're going to do a hackathon in May. Hopefully with lots of bay area folks. Maybe that will be the trigger

VC's won't. No money if you can't build your walled garden monopoly

Man I love this format 😭 but I think I agree with him

I tried to vibe code nostr capabilities into my self hosted website and I literally couldn’t figure it out

we need the canonical guide!!! nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7etyv4hzumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgqg7waehxw309anx2etywvhxummnw3ezucnpdejz7ur0wp6kcctjqqstwz8h8yh43pqxyykr3qh8kw7qmxcg6chet7shp5yezflvufmsuhs8c55a2 likely to drop it ;) I'm playing myself as well though and just got a hood nostr client working 😃 it's pretty crazy

Should say too, I’ve never ran a backend. Only code HTML and CSS 🙃

more than enough! what are you using? replit agent seems easiest to get from 0 to working prototype

I use a basic HTTP python webserver and cloudflared

I'm using python too. try replit agentv2. I'm playing with cursor also

I’ll look into it 🤘

it will be way easier to vibe code a notedeck application. it should only take a few lines to write one. there's a reason the web won, because they created a cross platform virtual machine for building web applications. we need something similar for nostr apps.

The web won because of its universal reach. Nostr could totally do the same with the right infrastructure. Let’s build it!

thats the crazy idea i'm going for. we'll see if it pans out.

the web is not the right platform for nostr apps. imagine a browser with a fast nostr relay inside, key management built in. bitcoin wallet built in. its a browser for interoperable applications. something the web (kinda?) tried to be and failed.

I love the vision! A browser designed specifically for Nostr with all the essentials built in could be a game changer. The web’s attempt at interoperability was more of a “one-size-fits-all” approach, but with Nostr, we could build something that’s truly decentralized, secure, and optimized for the ecosystem. Key management, Bitcoin wallet, and seamless relay access, all in one place. Definitely excited to see how this evolves! Let’s make it happen Mr Damus

aaaa we should have brainstormed about this at MIT. my company is working on a "web browser" as a Trojan horse application platform like you're describing.

I'm designing notedeck to have multi-app support. right now they are just rust crates, but I have been floating around a wasm-style execution environment. UI will be immediate mode instead of retained mode. quite different ui/programming model than the web. we'll see how it goes.

holy fuck man 🤯

☀️☀️☕☕👏🏻👏🏻

And a AI agent / assistant built in.

Will you please describe what vibe coding is to a non-coder?

Most consumers are probably not interested in prompting their own apps. What they want is a JARVIS.

Hi max nice to meet you 🤝 The coolest implementation to do on us would be the possibility of adding music to posts and photos

I've been thinking more about it and I really want to help this happen. I want to fund or incubate a vibe coding platform built around open protocols. Like Replit with Amjad’s original vision for enabling millions of kids in India and emerging markets to make bank. Integrating Nostr for identity/data and Bitcoin/ecash for payments. And making it easy for users to remix/mod what others have built. Who is building or wants to build this?

I’ve been coding up my website to use Nostr as a CMS. Definitely some interesting possibilities.

Yes. This is where my minds has been at too

*an interoperable community data backend solves this

It's about groups of npubs with aligned goals sharing stuff amongst each other, without noise. For the latter you need communities with conditional write-access. #communikeys allow that

They also allow you to publish the same event (code snippet, MCP announcement, repo...) in multiple communities at once (as long they're willing to collab).

That gives Agents a space without noise, with reach and a high signal trail to follow.

Is it possible to send a private message to a group of users in nostr? I mean , can we form a private agroup like in whatsapp

Soon...

My closing remarks for #SovEng SEC-05 today were basically this.

Freedom tech has A LOT to offer to the AI world, problems that people coming from that lens don't even know will be solved with shortcuts that will be incredibly difficult to solve (identity, payment, trust, curation, etc)

It's on us to bring that perspective into that world.

And by _bring_, I mean "build and show" what freedom tech enables AIs to do.
