Amateur day trader here I find it a waste to short anything you own nothing and betting on bad outcomes best to own the asset if you feel a dip is to come sell half of what you own to buy back at the dip the ratios remain similar in my experience

The idea was not even that bad tbh. It's just that they tried to get approval from the establishment. Why would the establishment want to share power?
They should not have asked for permission but they had a CEO so they can hold somebody responsible.
That is why these things can never work if they have soembody they can lock up.
I seem to remember at one point WAY back that I thought Ripple was an interesting project... Now, I don't think I know (or care) what its supposed value proposition even is anymore.
I've been in the same boat. I saw things that were interesting but i always stayed away from any "coin" that has a CEO.
Also it turned out that most other coins try to do too many things or are too similar to bitcoin with just 1 or 2 things they try to do differentely.
And then there's like 100 or so that are just piggybacking on ETH.
Lessons were learned. I'm gonna stay in my lane from now on.
My friends coworker said he sold all his BTC and kept all of his XRP. He plans to buy back in at 50k π
