No. Texas is in my list of places I never want to go again. I can't stand it. It's full of Texans. I came to not like Texans much due to my time in the army. I'm too much of a damn Yankee to live in the south, plus, it's way too hot for me. North is the direction I'm likely heading.

My buddies from the north say similar things. They manage the Texans, but the heat still wears on them. Subjectively, the work vibe here is more toward common sense, especially in mechanical, industrial, etc. Anything outside of an office. And there's a lot available, so you can bounce around. However, middle management will always be middle management.

Yeah, but I just can't. It's also too far from family.

Understand completely. Just general info for a rainy day. We'll take you if you change your mind. 😂

Lol! Well, if things go really wrong, sure. 😁

I can't disagree. I like the rockets but I would be hard to physically remove me from the upper Midwest. MI originaly, MN now.

Yup. The upper mid west is appealing, but, it's too far from family.

I was going to say that there are plenty of good paying welding jobs in the oil fields in Wyoming and Wyoming doesn't have a state income tax, but if the mid west is too far from family, Wyoming is way too far.

and i thought you were English

Ethnically, part, yes. But I'm just an idiot American. 🤷‍♂️

Popular culture made me feel that Texans were cool - cowboys, rough & tough, thick headed but gentle at heart, religious, country music, and so on.

/Of course, the history isn't good. Yeah, never been to the US.

Cowboys in moves are cool. Cowboys in real life were often very not cool.
