Addresses aren’t the issue. It’s that if you want to sell for cash they don’t use Lightning so you end up having to wait up to an hour for a text message that your withdrawal is ready. At least that’s how it worked the one and only time I ever used one.
The are some lightning enabled ATMs that are awesome and the rates are ~2%.
No. There's usually a QR scanner built in. You just scan your address QR. My biggest issue with these is the fees they charge. Remember, convenience is always more money. They are good way to quickly convert cash to bitcoin.
And they are KYC-free for up to a certain amount.

They work! You just have to wait for your block to be confirmed. No lightning.
