Consent of the governed is an oxymoron. People who are governed cannot consent.
People do consent and participate in the system.
If you canβt say no, then itβs not consent
You can, but there are consequences to it. If you dont do something, like pay taxes voluntarily, people with guns will come to your house. Its up to you if you want to face that, you have a choice.
Itβs not voluntary if someone puts a gun to your head and says βyou must voluntarily pay taxes.β Thatβs like someone putting a gun to a womanβs head and saying have sex with me. Then you say it was voluntary and not rape. If you canβt say no, then itβs not consent. Just because you can choose to die or go to prison does not mean itβs voluntary or consensual.
The main thing is there is a choice. You can also leave the country to avoid it. So 3 choices really. Consent doesnt mean you aren't being coerced and an equal decision.
Thatβs not a choice. Thatβs like saying if you want to be free, you shouldβve been born somewhere else. I shouldnβt have to give up my family, friends, lifestyle, and career just to be free from government theft and harassment.
You shouldn't have to, but the majority consent, and our system is based on who is the strongest gets their way.
You keep repeating that the majority consent. But if people were asked whether they wanted to pay their taxes this year or keep all of their income, majority of people will keep their income. This is not consent. People pay their taxes out of fear. This is actually coercion. Do not confuse the two.
I concede that you could say it is compliance. I would just say, that as you know the system is coercive and still decide to participate, it is more informed consent, although you participate under duress, you could say its not true consent.
Yeah I am doubling down and calling this coercion. Itβs not consent by any means. When you donβt pay taxes, you get letters from the IRS with clear intimidation tactics. Itβll say something along the lines of you respond asap or potentially face large fines and/or imprisonment.
Imagine sending a threatening letter like this to a woman you are trying to date if she refuses to go out with you. If she goes out with you after receiving this later, she has not freely consented. She has been coerced and her interest in dating you is fraudulent.
I see that it is coercion if you view it as having no choice to pay. But you still have a choice to leave and not participate. So you are consenting because you have a choice. Choice however unsavoury to you, is still there. How about you also just do cash jobs, this is another "choice".
