Because soon enough someone will get the idea of sending child #porn as well. I don’t want that shit to happen here.

At nostr.build we don’t allow any illegal content and will report any content exploiting a child.
We also hide consenting, adult porn from our View All feed, but keep the links. Porn is < 2%, and is not a problem at all.
I have personally reviewed almost all content on nostr.build and the amount of wholesome, creative, entertaining, artistic, content makes me very proud on our nostr community. Even if we made a link just for porn that came in, it would be pretty bad…

This is a dilemma. Of course you censored child expoiting content, it is mandatory!
On the other hand if the media content is centralized, that means the opportunity of censorship and it is "incompatible" with free speech.
So we have to find a way to balance between censorship and free speech. In the other words - the balance between centralisation and decentralisation.
You should distribute the burden of reviewing and hosting. Write some deployment instructions so other people can host a nostr.build instance.

For adult content and porn, I wouldn’t be surprised if complete separate communities form, with their own media servers dedicated to just that..
nostr.build will never be a good ‘porn’ server as we don’t get much, hide all from View All and delete or report anything questionable..

Yes it is true, and I absolutely agree with you. But the self hosted media will not be censored, so everyone can see them. This is one of the main problem, that must be solved, isn't it?
I don’t see it as a problem. Media is already blurred by most clients if you don’t follow the invidual, and mute and filter tools are becoming steadily more powerful. Those who post illegal content should be reported to the authorities and arrested.

Yes, if I don't want to see illegal content I'll block the account. But the media is remains on the place.
And if you rely on the authorities, you also rely on the state, and this is not the case why Nostr was created: the freedom of speech.
I think we cam find an "automated" solution. E.g. only an idea: different nodes (relays) examine the incriminated media object and decide by voting about it whether it is illegal or not. It is not a new idea e.g. the NEO token's dBFT mechanism does the same as I wrote. Simple byzantine generals problem

Democracy is worse. It’s mob rule. A vote of relays sounds ripe for abuse.
Don't agree about voting. This was the main problem with Bitcoin System and the verification by nodes solves exactly, the same problem. The math is the solutiom, the majority of nodes must agree about the nonce (found by PoW by a node) is valid so the block can be treated as closed by the system and the winner node can issue the rewarded BTC through the node's own wallet.
This is called byzantyne generals problem and the solutiom is the Byzantyne Fault Tolerant solution. The mentioned dBFT is this but "distributed".
Not all nodes must agree about this, by verification, that's why the 51% attack is one of the main vulnerability of the Bitcoim system. Remember, when every nodes had to upgrade to a new version at 2017 or 2018, when the protocol.was changed.
So it is not true democracy. Democracy only for the nodes with enough computimg capacity, and not equal voting, like democracy. It seems an Incorporation instead. PoS is worse because it means even a census by richness.

You are welcome to discourage whatever you want, but the beauty of bitcoin is that nobody else gets to decide how you use it. 😉 Mute what you don't like, don't zap what doesn't suit you. This is the way.
But what is or is not value is entirely subjective, and up to the individual. Some people believe film, art, music, literature and all manner of other intangible goods hold no value either but are still willing to consume them. Others pay generously. There is a market for porn, always has been, always will be. You're just not interested, and that is entirely valid!
If freedom needs structure is it still freedom? I agree with you but I don't know the answer.
You have to decide whether you want real freedom of speech, or whether you want only the version of speech that you admire.

People forget that OnlyFans wasn't originally a porn site.
Porn quickly swamps everything else because it burns the brand and scares people away.

That's why there is Patreon, GoFundMe, plenty of other options. Onlyfans is bigger and far more successful, because people want porn. No matter how much the vocal prudes hate that fact. Porn didn't ruin Onlyfans brand, it made them what they are now. An industry giant. The people who think it was ruined are simply not their customers.
