A few bites into tomatoes and peppers in my garden makes me realize how detached modern society is from food. It’s so damn good i could eat them like i could binge eat a bag of chips. Everyone is eating stale food.

Humans turning away from hunting and gathering to agriculture came with massive tradeoffs. There si nothing better than fresh vegetables, fruit, and a piece of meat.
fresh meat must be crazy
One of my greatest pleasures this year has been taking bags of freshly picked fruit and vegetables that I've grown myself, its a first, but hopefully something that I can now keep up year on year
Facts
that rabbit hole goes deep.
and the way you feel halfway in beats any energy drink on the market.
There's a line in one of Asop Rocks, new album, that goes something like
"The scientists don't know what's triggering the super strength, but they've also never seen someone eat a pepper that they grew themselves."
Part of what's happening, is your body recognizing nutrients it needs. Good stuff!
Be sure to keep some seeds. The new seeds are programmed to grow in your climate and soil, and will out-perform any seeds you can buy.
whoa is like compiled code from source
Tomatoes fresh from the garden are insanely good, about 100x more taste. Carrots too, and broccoli 😙🤌
I’m gonna need a bigger garden
I spent my lunch hour today snacking on blackberries while standing at the blackberry thicket. Life is great!
When you’re ready
Not everyone.
Welcome to normality. 😊
Unripe with no taste is more like
Picked early for shelf life and gassed to make it look ripe
Looks good. Tastes flat
human conscious experience is dulled en masse in some sense if you think about
We have a glut of tomatoes right now.
Give it a couple of months and you'll be hankering for a drive through cheese burger again 😂
My dirty little secret is I like the occasional factory food offerings 😂
Just go out and try to call the plants, trees and birds around you by their name. How many can you differ and actually name?
This is so basic knowledge to know what things surround you, but we are so far detached already
Obsessed with garden fresh okra
A lot of stuff can be refridgerated for very long time like a year+. They have optimized process from gathering to storing to ripping to selling food looking stuff to customers all year round for cheap. It just tastes sooo bad.
I grew up in Georgia (US). We would pick peaches, apples, figs, blueberries, blackberries, and muscadines as we were out exploring. You really can't grasp the difference without experiencing it.
I can’t get to my tomato’s before my toddler does. She eats them all
Soooo true. I usually hate tomatoes for example. But the tomatoes from the garden are soooo gooooood.
I think we need a renaming. 🤣🥰
Once you taste a tomato from the garden you will never buy a store bought one again. Same goes for 91.5% of fresh fruits and vegetables. The rabbit hole is deep. You’re gonna need a bigger garden! You have been warned 🤓
So you’ve been watering the plants? Or was that our little neighbour kid lol. Glad they’re still alive regardless 💜
