Long press zap button is nice but it’s a design fail. Need a way to show that its there.

I like it. If you are used to iOS you know you need to Force Touch everything
U gotta know it’s there but once it’s there it’s cool - could be a setting option for new vs old behaviour
Perhaps some kind of circle around it that shows that it can be pressed in a different way…

I like it, but I see where you’re coming from. Maybe keep it, but also add “Custom Zap” to the three-dot menu?
Long press for those that instinctually try that, in the menu for those that would look there first anyways.
I’m still trying to train my muscle memory to stop long-pressing notes for the menu, tbh.

Maybe just have the options in setting. You could set all the defaults such as amount, type of zap, custom message etc. and have the user toggle on/off long press. It will teach them that it’s available. Just an idea.
Maybe as soon as you tap the ⚡️ icon an animation begins where:
1) zap is animated
2) zap is enlarged (pops out)
3) zap starts “charging” the longer you hold it

how about adding long press to others? Repost = quote repost. Shaka = option to choose emoji. Three dots = bookmark… Users should discover this functionality on their own as it’s used more often and they’re likely to coincidentally long press… Could add a tour for first timer that shows it
Could it:
- default to generating an invoice for default amount
- option on top of sheet to add custom amount and change the invoice
That way you still get the one click default zap. People who want custom will have one extra tap (on the same sheet)

yes but also anyone who’s been in test flight including yourself is a really poor judge of this because we all have a few weeks of a different exceptions on both what happens when you zap but also what Force Touch used to do on a note
What about a pond-ripple type animation that grows the longer you press? Small tap would invite more exploration. OR a sats counter that appears and increases the longer you press, then tap-to-ZAP that amount. Maybe a pref to set the rate (1, 5, 10, 100)
I'm conditioned to expect the haptic on long-press, but missing here.
