Bernie Sanders was always right about the Democratic Party.

Anything that requires the labor of another person is not a human right. How can people not understand this? Is sickening how entitled people are

Yeah, he really got shafted in 2016. Whether you agree with his politics or not. He was a better contender than Hilary.

I think his days being the democrats lapdog are over.

He ain’t getting any younger.

that too

Despite my opposition to his politics, I used to respect Bernie for his authenticity... but he just keeps endorsing puppets of the very oligarchy that he denounces.

Feels like he wants to start a new political party. It should be the orange party. And maybe purple. 🫡

Truthfreedomhealth party already exists.

#ASKDRSHIVA

Such great insights but then that bit about health care being a human right. Aside from the implication that health care labor should be "free," the whole thing is built on a terrible model for medicine which incentivizes the use of interventions at the expense of actual health.

But otherwise this is a nice surprise.

It's amazing to watch so many on the left not recognize how dysfunctional and elitist the Dem party has become. Good for Bernie.

dude…

i really appreciate you 👍

And I you! Love your posts. Plus you once quoted Ivan Illich 🤩

hard not to.

“Neither revolution nor reformation can ultimately change a society, rather you must tell a new powerful tale, one so persuasive that it sweeps away the old myths and becomes the preferred story, one so inclusive that it gathers all the bits of our past and our present into a coherent whole, one that even shines some light into the future so that we can take the next step… If you want to change a society, then you have to tell an alternative story.”

Possibly because they get some sort of kickback or meal ticket from their fluffing.

Yea its ridiculous. Double billing, inflated prices, supersize profits.

Everyone in America currently has a right to healthcare (shouldn't be denied for discriminatory reasons).

No one has the right to slave labor. (also why income taxes are immoral)

America's healthcare industry is an enormous rat's nest. I don't think single-payer is the best answer. I'm not sure what is, but right now I do know insurance companies have WAY too much say in dictating care. Shifting all that to the federal government doesn't seem like the best solution.

Healthcare as a human right doesn’t mean enslavement of doctors. It means that no one should be deprived of basic care if they can’t afford it. The problem of course is that someone has to pay for it. If preventative care is accessible, people get less sick and don’t need to go to the emergency room for basic medical needs, which goes unpaid and drives up hospital costs for everyone else. So we either agree as a country to spread the risk around with a giant insurance pool, like we already do with Medicare, or we spread the cost of emergency care around, which is the more expensive and less efficient option.

No one is deprived of basic care. We have medicaid.

We have giant insurance pools already (both public and private). They don't work great.

Like I said, I don't have a solution, but centralizing power doesn't seem to be the best option

I've been saying 60% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck for alot longer than Bernie.... lol

Sort of. Bernie still doesn’t get it and the people who advise him don’t get it either. He is unelectable and dems know it, but Bernie doesn’t seem to get that.

I think he would have won 2016.

Nope. America at its roots won’t tolerate socialist ideas.

Yes. Bernie ~absolutely~ would’ve won.

I totally agree with you. People have very short memories and forget about the political dynamics of that time. Had Bernie been the Democratic nominee, I believe he would have won 2016.

FYI, I'm unable zap you.

I get this error when I try zapping you:

I think if Bernie had won the Democratic nomination for the 2016 election, the dynamics of that time were such that he would have won, and Trump would have lost. The Dems only lost 2016 because Hillary was such a terrible candidate.

Seems to me Bernie kept his mouth shut before the election. It's easy to speak truth when nothing's at stake.

Bernie talks a good game, but socialism isn't the answer to America's problems.

There are people making 6-figures living paycheck to paycheck. You cannot legislate and "safety net" irresponsible spending. Ironically, the best safety net is no safety net. Humans will actually take care of themselves if they have to. People will be charitable to those in true need, America has always done this.

Relative wealth inequality is irrelevant (other than a political football), so long as absolute wealth rises, which it has. America's poor are more wealthy than the average income person in the world.

Finally, the way you get big money out of national politics is to make federal government less powerful so it isn't worth buying. Reduce the federal government back to it's original intended size. Centralization of power will always lead to corruption/waste. It is inevitable.

he should have refused to endorse.

The rare instance a commie (not in power, fortunately) gets it right, and succinctly so.

Love him or hate him, you gotta admit Bernie is the most consistently on-message politician in contemporary politics. He's almost pathological in his adherence to his message. You can never call the man a flip flopper.

Bernie talks the talk.

Sounds good after the election.

Bernie has always been based. Just comes at solutions with the wrong ideas.

Who’d a thunk, they want more discussions!! Maybe we just need to discuss harder and things will be fixed!!

Well, some part of his opinion might be correct but his solutions definitely are not. I do not endorse people who are 99 / 100 times wrong just because from time to time they happen to say something right. GFY Bernie.

Yes he’s the reason I voted for Trump and eventually said fuck all of this and led to bitcoin so I appreciate him for that

we need a democracy of values not of politicians or political parties.

universal values like liberty, justice, equity, fraternity, health, education and social welfare can exist without political parties.

Equity is socialist nonsense, not a universal value. Equity also contradicts liberty.

NO

People don't have equal skills and talents. Only way to make them equitable is by force. Equity is violence.

NO. we can give them the tools

Unless you change human DNA, you won't change the differences in talents and capabilities between people.

I always knew that Bernie was a dumb socialist. But he's apparently an antisemite too!

Could you not argue that you can be against a war without being against Jews?

I mean, is he really antisemite?

You could, if this war wasn't in self defense.

He’s Jewish. And anti war in general

Fuck yeah Bernie ✊🏼

Bernie Sanders is an old socialist, who was swept aside by the new woke socialists. His party is a party of war, racism and poverty/theft. Good riddance. I am so happy Trump was elected.

Bernie has mansions.

they ruined the party when they went the way of hillary instead of bernie. permanently turned away a lot a lot of youth.

The white pill take from this election for our country should be the importance of timely, fair, and open primaries. They are messy and uncomfortable but help people feel heard, involved, and represented.

the same democrats that threw him under the bus for $hillory

No they won't... Learn... That requires empathy. Sociopaths don't have empathy.

I don’t think i’d be a bitcoiner if it weren’t for him and his 2016/2020 campaigns, as odd as that probably sounds. Gfy

lol dude bernie is part of the democrat party, I honestly dont see why people still think hes some selfless human being, the guy preaches that socialism is working to countries where prostitution is the #1 career of all females above the age of 12 thanks to the socialist dictatorial government, he can rot in a fucking hole for all i care, he just takes your money and pockets it, while pretending only people richer than him are evil

I lost a lot of respect for Bernie Sanders when he got railroaded in 2016 and he still endorsed Hillary which showed me he ain't based at all. Ron Paul refused to endorse Romney because he stands for something why he was so beloved. Bernie probably got paid off as well for a communist he does love easy money.

I don't think he was paid off, I think he was threatened and he bent the knee because he didn't have a choice. I was there, in Philadelphia, in 2016. I know how that system works. It was ugly.

Doubtful. He is not based. If he was threatened he wouldn't be so friendly with them. Not a prinicipled guy. Always attacking the rich but the man lives in a McMansion. Typical communist.

what did they threaten him with?

Greater good

Greedy communist.

true, hes not principled, but rather more a consistently delivered brand

Maybe the Democratic party should try value for value v4v model instead of the sponsorship route, for better alignment of incentives

Pretty bad when the economy sucks ass so bad that Bernie Sanders becomes a capitalist.

hes right on the critiques, yet so wrong on his solutions ( imo ). but boy o boy is he necessary for the democratic party to successfully have any accurate reflection on why their coalition is crumbling.
