An old high school friend once said to me "there have been so many different versions of you auggie" meaning it as an insult. Some people don't understand growth.

I think all growth is a kind of death. Death is natures change agent.

I think we just learn to know our deeply ourself better with time.
And not the one others want you to be.
You thought you were a wrong man, and you kill that to be the one you are today.
But you could also see it that way :

Anyway youth is for testing things and thoughts, and you feel strong physically.

I didn't know I was going to do it. I had a great opportunity open up, a new jiu jitsu school opened right by my house; new culture, new vibes that I like, and I jumped right into teaching classes. I'm coming up on brown belt later this year, I can feel the challenges happening, feeling incredibly blessed.

A diluted version would be to strive to achieve that when possible, and try to avoid any form of ego (again very, very difficult as there are so many traps and they are actively promoted by society & authority).
Think thats a big flaw in all social media - it focusses on likes, follows, identity, etc - pure ego.
You definitely don't want to be a dead-on-the-inside asshole building your "personal brand". This will only hurt you long term.
Many rely on this for making money which is another big issue. It propagates the problem. We end up with false prophets that don't offer anything you can't find out for yourself (often with a much better understanding), and just end up wrapped up in themselves.
Being generous to them they may in some cases offer info in a distilled form, but convenience has a huge cost.
Shortcuts are very rare, if they even exist. Nothing worth having comes easy.
NOSTR can address this.
Do away with the identities - the "big" personalities & make it solely about the conversation & growth. Accounts become anonymous but those offering value can still be financially rewarded.
Everyone becomes equal as any form of id is gone.
I love the idea of solely focusing on conversation and growth.
The identification and ego issue is for sure something I'm contemplating. Reading Eckart Tolle again does that.
Makes for some interesting introspective moments.
