For the number of billionaires in the world, there is surprisingly very little investment in Aging research. If I was rich, I would put all my wealth into research to make us live longer. It's almost as if humans accepted defeat.
Even the US's National Institute on Aging only appropriates ~400m USD/yr to Aging Biology. That's nothing.
We can indeed buy time. But we have to pre-pay for it.

Well, it will mostly depends on how you see what death is. If it is the end of the story it makes sense. But I confess it would be quite depressive if all I had were ~80 years in this fallen world 🙃🫠
Healthspan can be extended. Lifespan, I highly doubt it. The point isn't to live forever, but to remain healthy as we age.

I think a lot of it is lost in legalities because it involves stem cells. I'm unsure. When my son was born some new labs reached out wanting to charge a ton to perserve the placenta because there are stem cells in it and can be used in a bunch of ways. It opened a bit of a rabbit hole I went through for a couple days.. It seems many scientists link stem cells to it but depending on the country a varying amount of research into it is illegal to do.
How much is a extra year worth, would a billionaire give all his billions just for a year ,a extra year even tho if the billionaire chose to decline the extra year , due to cost he would lose the billion anyway as the billionaire would have to leave it behind 🤔🤔🤔
If you live well, one lifetime will feel like many, and you will be content and satisfied whenever the time comes to die.
People tend to not ask questions they don't want the answers to. Billionaires might find out the businesses that make their billions shorten their lifespan.

Death is a tragic yet beautiful limitation. Use your 4000 on average weeks that God put you on Earth wisely, and understand basic biology and nutrition to live as healthy as possible in the meantime.
Also: National Fiat Institutes of whatever won't fix anything and being obsessed with aging will make you miserable
Having kids and leaving a legacy is a far better use of time
Do you have numbers or just a hunch? I'm not saying it's not true but I know more longevity vc funds these days than crypto funds and it seems good longevity companies have zero problems with financing.
There are even multiple local vc funds in Central Europe, where there are very few vc funds in general.
...I also don't have numbers though, just an opposite hunch...
I prefer better than longer.
