Overreacting much? Bend what knee? It is not wise to run a full lightning node if all you need to is make payments. And you will lose money. Anyone who has done so can attest to that.
You might be forgetting the fact that a Visa terminal loses money.
The point of a node is ensure that you can receive instant payments without permission.

Well if you take one Uber ride a month. Not worth it to buy a car.
If you take an Uber two times a day, then yes buy a car, it’s more upfront, cheaper on the long run.
Same with running a lightning node.
Yep. Ran mine 2 years ago. I think I lost about $75 and called it a day.
