Works great unless you’re expecting to be contacted 😂 then turn it off for a bit.

The only people who contact me are air duct cleaning telemarketers

SIR IVE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO REACH YOU ABOUT YOUR CARS EXTENDED WARANTEE

I do similar but I have no notifications other than on my phone and I have notifications turned off per app on the phone unless I need them (mail, texts, nostr).

I automate DnD to be on from 1hr before bed until wake up.

Flight mode works well too 😁

Yea I’m known for that. Oh I didn’t get your call. My phone was on DND

Been on DND 3 years straight.

What’s is that ?

I turned of notifications on my phone two years ago, never looked back.

The first thing I do with any app is disable notifications.

The only notifications allowed are texts and calls. Everything else is a distraction

I thought everyone had figured that out by now that disabling all notifications (desktop/laptop/phone/watch) is like the abc in productivity

OR just don’t allow apps to send notifications, then only important one can disturb me

But I'm "working" from home.

Unpopular opinion:

Lifehack: Buy a feature phone and use that instead of a smartphone.

A smartphone doesn’t add anything positive to your life. Honestly.

Is it possible these days to live without either?

My smartphone benefits over a feature phone:

1: Messaging groups with friends through various apps.

2: GPS guidance while driving.

3: Built in phonebook / addressbook of local businesses.

4: Email access anywhere, useful to access tickets to events or return codes / receipts when needed.

5: High Quality camera always available.

6: Access to NOSTR.

7: Able to pay businesses with a lightning wallet.

8: Able to do personal banking on the go. Quickly check balances, do transfers, and make payments.

9: Access streaming music/videos anywhere.

And more I'm sure that I'm not thinking of. For me, a smartphone is much more useful than a feature phone. But I do think I'll implement the do not disturb mode.

necessary life hack

Absolutely; way ahead of ya! These are supposed to be TOOLS, not your personal assistant or your supervisor. I pick that shit up when I'm good and f'n ready.

My phone is on do not disturb mode since I have it. It works wonders

What a great idea!!

did that years ago. Additionally, use as few apps as possible and prohibit every app from sending any notifications.
