people like this dropping dead at 65 hit hard sometimes. most of us assume we'll live to 80-100 but not much is guaranteed after about 55-60.
maybe we need to do what we want to do today. is that high time preference?
He had been a heavy smoker, that is often a way to short cut your life expectancy.
