Good reminder!
Though I'm unsure about controlling one's feelings. But you can control how you act upon them.
Personally, can't control feelings. I can manage them and not display them.
It's like any other ninja skill, it gets easier as you practice.
I keep failing. It requires constant effort for me.
Stoic pro tip: start by controlling your opinions (through rational thinking). It's a lot easier to do. Feelings are always a response to sensory input filtered though opinions.
Example: "I shouldn't be treated this way, this is deeply unfair" -> "I can't control how people treat me, there is no *should* for things I can't control"
Read. Read lots of books. Never turn on the TV and if someone else has, try to block it out (very hard).
The reading is not an instant mind change. But over time, you will 'gravitate' from passive engagement in everything to questioning everything (active engagement). Reading is very hard at first because the current education system in USA does not teach independent thought and exploration (but learning process and things).
Over time, reading will change the type of books you want to read - re-enforcing the 'question everything' state of mind.
TWO years later, enlightenment feels extremely good - almost an elevated state of mind as you listen to people talk in the background. May take 3+ years depending on how programed you have become.
You will absolutely learn to control your feelings, and the emotions that drive them - because you will understand where it comes from. As a side note, you will also become VERY heathy (eating the right foods and engaging in healthy activity)!
albeit, with great effort
I agree in regard to attention and opinions and maybe shallow feelings. In my experience, deeper level of feelings, come, persist and leave on their own. Buddhist refer to this as Vedana.

GM FACTS
I use a little trick I call “move your attention NOW” helps avoid dwelling on pointless things
Over time, I have grown to appreciate this. It’s a true battle to stop staring at my phone, keep my mouth shut (or speak up!), and learn to breathe through stressful events.
It’s a lifelong battle! There’s no easy way out. Put in the practice. Tell yourself no!
A lot of people don't realize this.
Imagine if husbands told their wives they can control their feelings 🤣
You would need to be a profound monk to achieve that in my opinion .
C'est une question de posture voire de voire cette vie dans notre environnement
Then, how 🥹
And equally important, how you react and respond to them.
Sometimes other people do like to control it for me
You can control your attention. You can keep your opinions private. But can YOU control your feelings, really?
And your breathing
"this is not true."

This was one of the shocking common sense practices I learned as an adult man in therapy. You can pause to feel your feelings and then reflect on the meaning of those feelings lol
wild concept when you're unconsciously operating for the machine for most of your life.

And development of products.....but yet....I'm dealing with scammers....
I know that they been extensively very closely watching activities on Nostr such as Nostriga conference, RCL capital group.....everything.
When I was approached- it was not just something ....random. Impersonator and scammer specifically discussed tickets to the event, speakers. Information so closely related to it, like he knew quite a bit. That's really weird.
Scammer closely followed members of Nostr they were planning to target with fraudulently appropriated identity of Jack Dorsey
Safety is not a privilege but rather foundational human right
yes
Two of them are less easy to reach
Can people control their feelings, or can they just be witness to those feelings?
True that it is not straightforward, and most people have not developed the skills necessary, but:
