Now that we have the Bitcoin protocol and the Nostr protocol are there any other freedom/ decentralized protocols left to discover?

I would like to see true P2P mesh networking technology come back as a means of communication when the internet is not available.

Nostr, Bitcoin, and most importantly faith in Jesus make you unstoppable. No one can silence you, steal your money, or erase your beliefs. It's the ultimate freedom—unfiltered, uncensored, unshakable.

Um. Monero, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash. They are all copies or forks of Bitcoin each with different features, all with far better usability.

Bittorrent, I2P, Radicle

Pubky looks promising. Public beta planned for June.

And don't forget to add Lokinet while you're at it!

I kept thinking of more and more after posting that. So many.

This isn't really a protocol but more of a general idea. I would like to see a focus on self-sovereign identity as an alternative to State IDs, especially since digital ID is already being used in some countries. Sort of like how Bitcoin and Monero are used as an alternative to CBDCs.

Bitcoin Cash, ZANO.org, Dash and for social farcaster.com — all are working better than BTC, Lightning and even Nostr (even though I prefer Nostr over Farcaster)
