X is way better than Nostr, that's why. And there is no demand here for any wide variety of content and barely any engagement.

The only thing X has on nostr is the network effect if you ask me. That's why a lot of the people are still there. They have cultivated giant followings. Otherwise it's a hell hole.

Its insurmountable if all nostr is is a FOSS twitter clone, honestly.
But I also think is looking at Nostr the wrong way.
Twitter is like Television.
Nostr is like the internet
For years TV ran on the way it had and even though the internet had ways geeks could download TV shows and even some streaming here and there people still used their DVRs and cable etc.
But over time the internet ATE all that. It was not just a better way to do TV, it was a paradigm shift.
Nostr has this same potential in my humble opinion.
The Twitter like clone is really just a single proof of work application. People are developing new things on it that never existed before. See #safebox as a good example.

Nostr 1.0 I don't think can scale due to certain laws-of-physics walls it hits. A lot of smart people here are dedicating a lot of braincells to problems that are already solved—it's just that the solution would mean a breaking change and there is an understandable fear of that.
Nostr 1.0 is still great for B2B and other things where the problems Nostr 2.0 solves come less into play. But for what you speak of, I think there are a number of breaking changes that are necessary.

Do you have no understanding of how new tech, especially a network, works? The fact that I'm on it before 99.99% of people means I value owning an identity. But if people cannot be honest about the current state of the network and where it drastically needs to improve, then it simply won't eat the internet like everyone wants it to...But, yuh know, don't be muh front run tech because you said something objective about muhhh Nostr.
The X algorithms are designed to find content that generates an emotional response in you. On X when you say something retarded everyone jumps in to call you out.
On Nostr we curate our own feed. If you say something retarded, we tend to just ignore it.
There's no problem with Nostr engagement.

Twitter sucks. But it's algo makes the rage bait endorphins flow. For a similar engagement on nostr requires YOU to put in the work. I barely use nostr, and I actually like it that way. I am #nostronly
You have to curate your feed if you don’t want that.
I NEVER scroll the “following” or “for you” feeds.
They try to murder your brain.
You can follow someone, then hit “follow all” posts (I have like 10 people I really like)
Only look at that feed. Pretty good signal
There is plenty of demand here for a wide variety of content
Bring humans if you want engagement
If you're ok with your posts going to a centralized computer before being posted, fine, Xwitter will work.. You don't like that idea, fine, Nostr can help. It's not really a competition.. I like having options. Obviously, since you're posting on Nostr, you don't mind having options either.
