I'm freakin done with fruit.
What's best or rather wisest choice for running Linux with graphene pixel along? I prefer small laptop, but good endurance. No big operations on it.

Any. What distros ever have you used? If none, get something simple like Debian or Linux Mint.
Get Linux Mint Cinnamon. You can dual boot it with other OS. You can install it on a USB 3.0 flash drive 64gb or bigger. Your laptop can be USB 2.0.
You can run it from a live DVD or USB. So as to check out compatibility with your hardware device. You can't go wrong with it. Run #Timeshift religiously. It's like Windows system restore.
Then enjoy running a computer again..😂🐧
I wouldn't do dual boot, that's like having shirtcoins on your main #Bitcoin hardware wallet.
Installing to USB 3.0 is a much better idea, IMHO.
It doesn't really matter what you do if works for you. The point is you have a lot of options. And all of them are good..🐧
I hoped I'll be able to run win things on it without dual boot👀 Like when soundmaster in theatre needed songs on win and mac was just problem allover. I absolutely prefer privacy and minimalism on this thing tho.
How is it with tablets, guys? I kinda stumbled in the store over the fact 14" is just too much. I want it to fit bigger purse, but notebooks that caught my eye (flippable f.e.) are out of my financial plan.
I never had a tablet apart of few Surfaces, which are also too big.
I'm just gonna use candles.
Do you mean hardware also?
Well, especially hardware 😅😭 I haven't seen Linux in fifteen years too😅
Nitrokey, starlabs, system76, purism...depends on your taste, but be sure to get a laptop with coreboot. No NSA inside.
I need irl friend to take with me😭
You nickname reminds me this song:
👀🫨😆😂
This is actually me, just before the surgery.
Little is known that polar bears have feathers.😀
What's your budget?
I like Asus. You may like the zenbook serie. maybe something like UX3402
I strongly recommend to try the keyboard before you buy anything. Go to store, make sure the ergonomy is right for you (layout and everything)
As for money, I just had this rather big fight with my husband and we have account together.🤭👿 But I want something rather simple, I don't use it basically for anything but mail, movies and word. Small, I'd prefer small thing.
I was thinking just checking Alza and pick whatever catches my eye, as you say, rather go by feel, since my preferences are rather low. Pay cash or btc, fertig.
But I've been advised to avoid nVidia and the newest stuff🤔
nvidia has proprietary drivers. That may be a challange. But if you're not into gaming opensource nouveau is running just fine.
if you choose progressive distro like fedora (i run it for decades) you'll be fine even with the newest hw.
Without dualboot or virtualized windows forget about app compatibility. running things via wine is not for everyone and it usually sux hard. either they build for linux too or you need to use an alternative sw (and there is an alternative for almost everything).
I am using Fedora from very first beginning of my journey with Linux.
I am running server on ubuntu - Tor relay - Mac Mini 2014. Actually I am thinking about second ntb. I have dell ntb with windows for school things. For my usecase but I need macOS and linux. I am thinking about buy Macbook Pro 13 from 2017 without touchbar. It is last model without T2 security chip and last model ntb with changeable SSD ever. Instalation linux is without problems here. On macs with T2 or with Apple silicon chips are problems with instalatioin.
I bought mine air 2020 I think, no idea what that is tho.
But I'd like to run ot all on a whole new machine, not something I bought online. I'm not educated, but paranoid enough 🫡
I see. What about framebook ntb? Completely upgradeable ntb, you know that?
Hah, that looks fun! Is it practical next to just buying stronger thing in a few years?
You can upgrade just component what you need. Better CPU? No problem. Better graphics? Just here is and enjoy.
Are you good with linux? for beginners I recommend #manjaro with #gnome but if you know linux then #archlinux
currently using refurbished thinkpad T470 and it works great and still has super keyboard, endurance is ok too.
As for now, consider me a mum level of tech. I used to play with Ubuntu a bit, but that's long forgotten and now I even don't have much time to dig in it. I'll start easy and build up along the way.
