In India, Linux is 13% of the desktop OS market. Let that sync in.
Discussion
I presume that’s a lot
This increased because government initiative to promote open source software and cost efficient Linux base .. but the irony is in India , sometimes they still take down content or censorship . Hmm.
Windows costs a lot of rupees
When scammers call them from "windows customer support" they just laugh.
THE CALL IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE. 😏😂
Based India
Is the "Year of the Linux Desktop" meme coming true. At least there...
I think it's up to 4% worldwide, which is amazing.
Don't worry, Microsoft is working hard to get those numbers up with all their hardware requirements, ads, lack of privacy, forced updates, etc.
Ohh Windows and Microsoft is so done. I'm switching to ChromeOS the next computer I buy.
You should give Linux a try, it works great on older hardware and you don't even have to install it to try it. Something like Linux Mint will have a familiar feel.
That is probably just because they replace it with pirated Windows right after purchasing the pc.
Rsync'ing that as we speak
i listened to a professor from an Indian university describe the progression of OS development starting from Bell Labs, to now, and somehow he wound the philosophical concepts of liberty and persistence into it in a way that was more compelling than anything i’ve heard before about tech.
= 13% market not using adobe and ms office
What! some of the courts are using linux, Libre office i knew those, 13% is rather quite good adoption. I also while researching a while ago found signal mentioned in an order along side whatsapp. It was for court notices that were to be sent online in covid times, i think they stuck with the online notices as valid. It would be good if I could daily drive linux, games and software support has stopped me. From switching.
in north korea it is 100% of the market by Red Star OS
Wow
