Its the Japanese relays have a great firewall that only allows Japan IP addresses. It's prob 1/3 of all of nostr maybe.. 🦜

These are just some of the ones I see in relay lists, I think the wirednet is the biggest maybe. There's a site somewhere that shows japan stats (flows) with a cool looking river visualization... But I lost the bookmark.

MAUs are most BD metrics ever invented .. they were invented for stupid investors .. The core metric for a social media is "does a stranger gets traction? - does she come back? - is there a purpose ? "
TwitterX is ZERO and so are all the Meta products .. Most people just use whatsapp these days .. X and Instagram are dead zombies and Facebook is not even a Zombie anymore .. they still boast billions of MAUs cuz they keep sending emails to people to click once to get their MAU counts high :-) ..so lame .. LinkedIn worst of all ... Tiktok is the only alive platform other than of course Nostr though the later is still in advance alpha .. let it hit beta ..
Yeah that's a shame, sorry about this. I didn't pay much attention to those stats myself and focused on other stuff, that's why it went unnoticed for this long.
You underestimated the influence of your own creation. We all do.
you can be in denial about this place being dead or you can use algorithmic timeline.
regular timeline would be default, of course. then you would have an option of a few algorithms.
we would have to standardize reactions to where they would actually be useful for the algorithm.
and then push up the most polarizing posts that have the most conflicting reactions.
takes me about 15 minutes to browse a day's worth of timeline here on NOSTR
it should take about a WEEK to do it and then the algorithm should order it so that i see the 1% of it that generates the most excitement and debate
FWIW, the charts i posted were built with THE EXACT SAME DATA THAT NOSTR.BAND WAS PUBLISHING.
Its clear the space could benefit by more analysis so we arent all trusting the same source data.

I do wish there were more finance content on Nostr. I’ll do my part by trying to post more.
My gut tells me #nostr has more engagement now and usability than ever before, and what I mean by that is that people actually post and reply to threads.
Its the lull before the storm. Good sailors know to get ready and prep. You should too.
