How do you deal with hunger when you're trying to eat less each day?
Discussion
Diluted apple cider vinegar.
π thanks! I had a period in the past when I was drinking a bit of that everday for general health purposes, now I can get back to that π
Nicotine
O man. I was never a smoker. But I acknowledge it's effectiveness in supressing hunger π
Sparkling water, nicotine and coffee
OK, sparkling water and coffee sounds good! π
Drink water. Coffee also helps
Yes caffeine - i've switched to yerba mate, but bulletproof coffee also helps keep the caffeine effects (like suppressed appetite) last longer.
Higher fat & protein content also helps you stay full longer - can help you reduce to 1 meal a day
Yes protein intake is also a very good one!
Thx liminal! π
Be careful with the really low carb diets, especially when they don't include fiber. I was on one for 4-5 years and loving it until it messed up my gut, I got leaky gut, and started having food sensitivities. I also was being awakened in the morning feeling really hot and with a racing heart and mind. I found out it was high cortisol as my body produced glucose to keep things running. The high cortisol was messing me up in addition to waking me up.
How did you know you had resolved the leaky gut issues. Iβm assuming youβre cured since then
I am at least mostly cured. I increased my carbs and fiber. I took some supplements to heal my gut. I avoided the food I had become sensitive to. I fermented my own goat's milk "yoghurt" with special strains that help heal (from the book "Super Gut"). My gut is much better (less gas, more consolidated poop, more comfortable, less bloating). I am about to do a new fecal test and blood test (for the sensitivities) to hopefully verify that I am fully healed. My food sensitivities were hard to find. They weren't an instantly obvious allergic reaction. It was more like the food would cause some inflammation that would cause my joints to ache so I would toss and turn at night and not sleep well. It was very difficult figuring out which foods I had the sensitivities to, which is why I did the blood test, even though it can give some false positives.
Anyone with leaky gut also needs to avoid Glyphosate which leads to leaky gut. Especially avoid all non-organic soy, wheat, and oats (which obviously means avoid most restaurant and most processed food).
Thanks for this π
Too much of a good thing?
thats why carnivore is better than just low carb....no leaky gut or food sensitivities
Currently, the food industry prioritizes taste over nutrition, often leading us to become addicted to products that harm our health. To counter this, start by incorporating more fresh and nutritious foods into your diet. Choose options that you find tasty, so the transition feels easier and more sustainable. Good choices include fruits, cooked starchy tubers (like potatoes and sweet potatoes), fresh meats, and eggs.
Excellent, thanks π
Lots of water. And remembering how good it feels to eat the next meal when you are basically starving. π
I like that, thanks!
hunger means your metabolism is burning sugar for energy, instead of fat. If you go carnivore, high fat diet, after 2 weeks or so your body starts using fat as fuel...I recently did a 2 day fast and even though my blood glucose was 75 on day 2, I didnt feel any hunger. If you get "hangry", or headaches if you miss a meal, that means your metabolism is burning sugar for fuel, instead of fat 97β of the population is a sugar based metabolism and a slave to 3 meals a day with snacks.
