Imo, Apple should just buy xAI now, regardless of price.
It's the only way they can compete in AI and social at the same time.

Too valuable. He has stated he wanted an AI company because he didn’t like what open ai was doing. Don’t see why he’d get rid of it already. It’s far too early and he has a data advantage. Elon is not the type to look for profit, he seems to have long term interests and vision.
What’s his data advantage?
X - communications, payment data, vehicle data, satellite data, probably internet data and who knows what he’s got planned. X also partners with vercel so he’s collecting data for development
It depends on how much he cares about Tesla and his gov job. If someone offers 200B for xAI, it would be a simple yes, even if it is an all stock deal.
He doesn’t strike me as a guy who cares about money. Being on the spectrum probably it seems to be more about mission and fun.
Agree, I don't think it is about money. It is about time. X is sucking the hell out of his time for memes. xAI is barely passable. SpaceX and Tesla are the ones doing the real change.

SpaceX has had Gwynn Shotwell basically running the show for ~10 years now....
And Tesla might have been disruptive back in 2015, but at this point all major carmakers have arguably better EV models... To say nothing of the expensive flops of the Cybertruck and whatever that "Tesla robot" was supposed to be, two projects in which Musk took strong personal involvement.
At this point the best thing Elon Musk can do for "humanity" is to take his billions, go live on an island somewhere and play Diablo or whatever.
They're so behind in AI it makes me wonder where they'll be in 5 years if they don't catch up.

Merge X's ad platform into Apple TV/Music/Podcasts. Use Grok as default search engine on Safari. Replace Siri with Grok. Optimize M chips to run local Grok and offer that model to all apps in the store. Boom.

X doesn't care about Android anyway. The Android app is much worse than the iOS app today. Android has always been a second class citizen.
