My american friends: Question - Why was abortion such a voters issue apparently? Not saying it’s not a difficult issue, but does it touch a lot of peoples lives?!
Discussion
I think it’s just a very sensitive topic for most people. On both sides the other side is literally hitler/satan. So it gets blown out of proportion
There are definitely other topics that are far more relevant and deserve a lot of the time people spend “debating” abortion
It's a symbolic issue. I can't wrap my head around it entirely, but it has to do with family planning, moral values, personal responsibility, individual sovereignty. Many topics are woven into this choice around birth and death, masculinity and femininity, so it's very emotional.
In addition to that there has been a tremendous amount of public discussion and propaganda involved. Potentially all connected to some sort of anti-human agenda.
I prefer to leave that topic and all others for that matter to the individual states and I cherish human life, but I also think an outright ban on abortion will backfire in the long-run.
There are more important issues than abortion for sure.
Progressives Vs Conservatists is just another illusory division.
Because in some states its actually illegal and if the woman is raped or if she is going to die they wont give her an abortion. They just let the woman die and let the woman have that child from a rapeest
Those red states are the problem. Its a total ban

Hoes don't like responsibility.
As it relates to this most recent election: the appointment of Supreme Court judges by Trump led to the overturn of Roe v Wade.
The people in the pro-choice camp felt this was a great misfortune.
When Harris began her campaign, her campaign strongly ran on the platform to reverse the decision. (Not realistic if you ask me, presidents don’t have that power. But it was the major battle cry for the Harris campaign)
You ask almost any person voting for Harris ( at least this way my experience), and the first thing they would mention was abortion rights.
So, to many, this election was the choice between a pro-choice candidate, or a candidate who denied woman’s bodily rights.
Tl;dr The Harris campaign made it the focal point of the campaign given recent events in the Supreme Court. At least, that way my interpretation of things.
Yeah and they were so ludicrously misled. Like you say, the president doesn't have the power to change it. Additionally, the Supreme Court only denied the guarantee of protecting that right in all states. It did not ban abortion and would not, under the guidance of Thomas Clarence at least. This is something very much lost on the propagandized public. Harris's official platform only said that she would never impose a ban and would reinstate Roe vs. Wade if given the chance, which would not happen whether it was her or Trump, anyway.
