Prediction - In less than 30 days, 45 on the outside, Putin is going to launch a massive offensive (about 200K troops) and it will take out the Ukraine lines which will totally collapse.

When it happens people me who simply said that we should stay out of it will be blamed for the failure of Ukraine despite the massive money and materials given to them by the US and EU.

As though our opinions effect outcomes.

No bet. It’s always the fault of the non believers of course. It couldn’t possibly be that the faithful believed in the wrong god.

And it will be used to justify our greater involvement.

May be but I have my doubt the narrative has turned and they are distancing themselves from the guy who was a hero not long ago. The US has a track record of turning on those we backed.

That does seem to have started. Time will tell.

But I'll remember I heard it from you first jack 😉

Does this mean they change strategy? They've been sticking to Eastern Ukraine. But if negotiations seem impossible, they may go West to get it over with.

No the will shell the fuck out of what is left and push the lines back about 150km, not take Kiev, etc.

Yeah, they will take more than they want and give some back when negotiating a peace agreement.

Why would Russia wait that long? Why is this war still going on?

Because they have allowed Ukraine to exhaust most of their man power in a meat grinder. They are now literally grabbing people off the street for conscription. Russia took most of Donbas and set up a three level defense and the Ukrainians have failed to even breech the first layer. They lost over 13K men in the "counter offensive".

This is analysis not pro anyone but the situation as soon as you turn off the US MSM is obvious. Russia has used a ton of restraint, they don't want Ukraine never did, they want Donbas and only took that move because the US is retarded and kept backing the attacks on ethnic Russians in Donbas for 8 years, then they were about to let Ukraine into NATO.

Putin has been very calculated on this. They don't want to level Kiev or it would be leveled already. Now they have 200K troops moved in from the north while the US is literally out of weapons to give Ukraine who can't even field the men to use them.

No one in the US military honestly analyzing this would tell you anything different. Where do you think I get my information from?

A week before Russia pulled back into the Donbas I said it was about to happen. Why, because I didn't think it, I knew it.

It's such a waste. The West knows best.... I hate that mentality and it's why I left San Francisco

I bookmarked this post. If Spirkodamus is correct I’ll zap you 1000 sats. Feel free to remind me is I forget to follow through.

I’d also like to know why you think this.

I still feel awful about how I fucked up that Afghanistan thing with all my opinions...

I appreciate and love the bold prediction, care to make it a friendly 50k sat wager? Hereby known as a “lunch bet”. To make it interesting, My wager is that a shooting military conflict will still be occurring between Russia and Ukraine on the date of December 1st 2023.

I would not take that bet because I am not sure the full reality will set in for Ukraine the war might be "over" but it doesn't mean that there will be no shooting.

If you want to make it that the Russians will make a very successful offensive in 30-45 days tops, taking pretty much all previously declared Russian territory, I will absolutely take it.

I honestly believe at this point we are letting Ukrainians die to test our latest weapons systems. Not the big stuff but all the little battle field troop deployable stuff.

Right now the front lines are like a blend of WWI and "The Drone Wars".

Yeah I think it could dwindle quite awhile. I expect no real change to territories for the foreseeable future. Would they go as far as the red line with highlighted cities in the image below? Or do you have something else in mind for the 45 day timeframe?

This is from https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Russo-Ukrainian_War_detailed_map (redline is my edit)

It’s certainly a proxy war, I agree on the testing angle as well as just bleeding / frustrating the geopolitical rival. I think there is an interesting Nuclear Proliferation argument, but it’s irrelevant here.
