Agreed... it's so weird. I've been meeting with a group of normies regularly for coffee/beers over the past several years. Have attempted to get them involved and in 2021 we all made predictions and I said btc would hit $100K in 2022. I was wrong., but I also shared that DCA was their friend, technology adoption curve shows we're still early, etc.
At our last meetup, my buddy who's a big Dave Ramsey guy, brings up inflation and how families are struggling to keep up. At this point, I just keep quiet... can only bring a horse to water so many times... and don't want to beat a dead horse.
So few realize that the train is still in the station. In this group of seven, I'm the only one into btc., and all the talking points have just failed to stick. Dave Ramsey guy always says "stick with what you know".
Sadly, there are times I feel like flipping them the HFSP bit.
I also wonder if there will come a time that relations will strain as they are so blue pilled and unwilling to take a drink from the btc watering hole. Time will tell.
I think at a certain point you got to recognize it there. not listening to you and continuing to hammer the point home makes them more staunch in their opinion against it.
they know you're a bitcoiner and when they're ready to learn, they'll come to you.
Agreed, similarly I have a friend who would explain all these things and at the time I wasn’t ready to understand, didn’t really know how to communicate it was so foreign to me. That friend is now a mentor who I check in with annually, pretty awesome to be on the same page. I’m now that friend that speaks about money printers, etc and hopefully in due time I’ll be contacted by those I’ve bewildered asking for more information being their trusted source amongst the noise.

I appreciate that... hope that it works out that way.

Just did an in person meetup with a friend and his friend and talked bitcoin for 4 hrs. It really feeds the soul when you meet others IRL that are out of the matrix
That's awesome... very cool. I've had so few really good IRL btc discussions over the years. Back in the previous cycle, I used to host "blockchain" meetups, thinking that throwing the net wider would draw in more people. It mostly attracted people that had no clue why a centralized blockchain was a waste of time and only wanted to discuss whether to invest in XRP or Ethereum. ICO's were all the craze and it was all a shitshow. That more than anything pushed me towards bitcoin. To Ben's original point, even back then people felt like they'd missed the btc boat.
It seems like more and more people are seeing the matrix of lies that permeates our society. Which makes freedom of speech on nostr even more important.
Yeah I may have purple pulled them today, it’s an easy sell to a bitcoiner
