Reminder that Nostr is basically a surveillance tool that you opt into.
There is a plethora of data / metadata that anyone can query, collect, and mine from multiple independent sources.
Be adversarial, this is permanent.

Eh. The same can be said for any open protocol or open source data. It’s not unique to nostr.
I agree! But a shocking number of nostr users I talk to are not aware of that and assume that nostr is either private and or somehow their npub (that they cross verify with kyc platforms themselves) will magically protect them from censorship, targeting, or coercion.
I'm broke and my identity has been stolen many times only for the person to find debt and collection payments.
I'm not worried about nostr. Lol
I get it! I’m not “worried” but people seem to forget that nostr isn’t anymore private or adversarial than other open data protocols and a lot of people act like it is private.
I have conflicting feelings about the social media aspect of Nostr.
People really don't get this. And this applies to all of big tech just as much as it does to nostr. They never delete anything, ever. Even if they say they do. Don't think what you put on goo drive is private.
