As my knee is in the final stages of healing post ACL replacement, I've noticed that occasional small sprains are actually helping the musculature settle in and stengthen.

God bless you jay. Be good to yourself so you can get back on the mat.
I have been! 😁
It's just the occasional slip or odd force that shifts the joint around now, but after a small rest, it settles in stronger.
Though, the biggest one was last month or so. While I was cleaning my bathtub slipped a little on the soapy surface 😂 got a bit of swelling for a week but I worked through it anti-RICE and it was fine.
Wtf is anti-rice?? Isn’t it funny how shit fells us? I have a trick ankle that fails at a particular angle so I’ll get fucked up walking in a field but can still spar.
No Rest
No Ice
No Compression
No Elevation
I just let the swelling do its the work. Though, I did ice and rest it for the first 24 hours because I hadn't committed to the strategy.
Yeah, joints are funny things. They like a lot of variation to stay strong.
Interesting. I didn’t know by being a stubborn asshole I was an anti ricer. Whatever works though dude just get healthy and stronk.
Wish you a speedy recovery Jay !
