This is also enabled in your account Search Settings by default (Privacy & Safety), not only the Files app.
Surely this is more about other people's content, not your own?

Reminder Apple said they were going to do the same thing without an option to turn it off then supposedly walked it back. How do you know they aren't scanning your closed source, walled garden device now?

i use tutanota for all emails and it works great. So proton mail can for sure make it work without google serivces on grapheneos
