Imagine trying to build a decentralized protocol, on a centralized system.
It's great for spreading the word. Like Jesus searched for sinners, we must seek the central-minded people and free them.
You can't build a permissionless system on some else's property. That said, a billion iOS users need Nostr too. They need developers to go into the trenches and build for them.
It's getting exhausting saying this...

Why would you even bother with that lockdown Stasi OS designed in California? iOS users have decided against freedom when buying their incredibly expensive devices so let them live with that decision.
What if there was a Damus ecash mint and the zaps were classified as "in-app currency"?
Alright, so Apple is a private company and can do what they want… theoretically. Is zapping sending information or sending money? Technically, a zap is a kind of Lightning transaction, which is on a network completely decentralized and NOT owned by Apple. So is Apple violating a law… somewhere in the world… by making a rule which arbitrarily stifles one kind of lawful, non-harmful form of speech (info passing via Zaps) vs. another (writing English or German or whatever language tweets)?
Nostr’s own documentation does no help by describing zaps as tips https://nostr.how/en/zaps but are they really? ⚡️ is made up of two or more nodes handshaking to place some amount of Bitcoin into a joint custody arrangement to facilitate Bitcoin passing between parties without the major Bitcoin mining fees overhead, for settlement at some theoretical future date. Proving “money” changed hands via a Zap is going to be really impossible if I zap nostr:nprofile1qqsr7acdvhf6we9fch94qwhpy0nza36e3tgrtkpku25ppuu80f69kfqprfmhxue69uhhq7tjv9kkjepwve5kzar2v9nzucm0d5hsz9mhwden5te0wfjkccte9ehx7um5wghxyctwvshsrwkq7z 21 sats and then he zaps me back 21 sats. the Bitcoin settlement would essentially show no money changed hands.
