I use PWA’s for a few apps mainly wallets… works great
But perhaps these are far simpler apps than something more comprehensive like Damus

What about the Primal approach for allowing in-app zap too-up purchases (for those that _want_ to pay Apple their 30% or whatever it is for their Sats).

how about cashu? you let the user store sats in any mint they choose, you allow them to make an in-app purchase to buy x sats which then are minted on the user's mint when you receive the payment from apple, and you store the proofs on the app
No idea about apple but on Android when I top up my sats on primal it's an in app purchase, through my google account.
There are no taxes on tips from the government but Apple forces a 30% fee/tax on tips through the App Store! Think about it! 🤔 If your state hasn’t joined the DOJ Apple Anti-Trust lawsuit you need to write your officials!

We need different hardware! Android and Apple won't permit to run #nostr on their phones on the long run.
I hate google as much as the next guy, but that's just not true of android. If you run nostr:npub1235tem4hfn34edqh8hxfja9amty73998f0eagnuu4zm423s9e8ksdg0ht5 or murena any other degoogled android rom, there's nothing that could ever stop you running nostr apps on your phone.
But primarily, most importantly, I think that linux needs to make a come back on mobile devices, there have been attempts but none of them went as widespread as they should have imo
