FUNDING DEVELOPERS IS HOW WE WIN. CONTINUALLY DEVELOPING SOFTWARE OVER TIME, ENHANCING IT, MAKING IT MORE EFFICIENT, MAKING IT MORE SECURE, IS HOW WE SURVIVE.
Apparently not everyone knows this. Wild.

Why the assumption that developers would create insecurity that the nodes would accept.
Because software security changes. It's a moving target.
I donate large , am I alone ?
The spirit of #[2] compels you!
you're right Dan.
But it is extremely important who does the funding and gives the grants out. If it is anonymous communitythen all great..when you get big money Wall Street gang stepping in and possibly giving grants to open source software devs then yes it is normal that a lot of people freak out and are against it. BTC community wants what's best for BTC but Wall Street wants what is best for Wall Street.
Agree...funding sources can come with baggage. However an ETF owner giving a percentage of proceeds back to Bitcoin devs, isn't bad willed, IMO. Maybe if it was done directly, but it's not being done directly. It's being done indirectly through existing funds.
I don't think with all respect that anyone can tell if it is bad willed untill shady shit starts happening. We tend to forget that #bitcoin was created to literally FIGHT THE WALL STREET AND FED GANGS and now we are close to saying : if they give bitcoin devs some money it is not that bad. ETF are not friends of Bitcoin. There is a lot of wealth in BTC community, why the grants can't come from the "inside"?
I don't trust VCs, bankers, Black Rocks and others. Getting even some control over BTC protocol is the biggest wet dream of representatives of the falling system. Thanks God For Consensus.

Yep every piece of software that changes is always for the best.
You can go back to SSL 1.0 if you want. That's fine.
So from your point of view we should make Bitcoin easier to change because that's how we win?
No. I never said that and never implied that. You seem to not have an understanding of how software or protocols work. They are living and breathing things that have to change for user security and user experience as the world changes and as bad actors look for vulnerabilities and exploits. If software never changes, it goes stale and dies. This has always been the case. If you worked in the information technology industry, you'd most likely understand this because you'd deal with it daily.
I saw Jack M’s video on this too… I guess I am living under a rock. Who is saying that we shouldn’t fund Bitcoin devs lol ??
