After this I have a branch in progress that changes threads to load instantly instead of incrementally, and fixes the scroll and profile loading issues in threads as well.

Is v16 still bad? There are some pain points i need to improve, but I would describe it as almost butter smooth.

V16 still seems janky when scrolling

Does it change from WiFi to cellular?

It doesn't seem to, but I'm on WiFi most of the time.

Scrolling through conversations or replies seems to worsen the situation quite a bit.

I have 20/29 active relays, is that possibly related?

I now strongly recommend not doing image downscaling in the device :) image proxies rock even at a cost of paying servers to do it...

I like not relying on too much external infrastructure. less brittle.

Me too. But the gains are considerable.

Although I definitely would like an image proxy option in app for privacy without having to go the full vpn route
