Really the only way to toast the sourdough. Cast iron skillet, Kerrygold butter, and a little love. #breadstr

That's a beautiful thing. I guess I'll go mix up some flour and water to spoil on my counter, otherwise I'm gonna have to just unfollow you out of jealousy

You won't regret it.

I dunno, I'm pretty good at regret.

do you think it'll be strong enough for a loaf by turkeyday? I feel like 3.5 weeks might be pushing it.

It might not be super flavorful, but it should be active enough to get a loaf. Once again, I'll shill the Sourdough School cookbook by Vanessa Kimbell. There were some great tips for getting some funk going on in your starter. 🪩

I've been working out of Flour Water Salt Yeast by Ken Forkish as my mainstay, as well as "The Perfect Loaf" online. The leftover starter sourdough waffles from that website have been a staple of mother's day the past few years.

Omg yes! And the banana nut bread 🤤. Someone recommended that book, but I completely forgot about it. I need to check it out.

"A lot of Kerrygold butter"

Oh yeah 🧈🧈🧈

Kerrygold butter is the only butter allowed in our house! I can almost smell this.... almost!

It's so good, sad to say I was late to the game on it. It was amazingly crunchy, hubs did a quote post with the crunching sounds 🤌🤌

Raw milk, spoon the cream off the top, beat it into submission in a counter top mixer, boom.. butter. Salt and shape it to your heart’s happiness.

I would love to do this, I've bought heavy cream and made butter but I know it's nowhere close to this.

Worth it if you can get your milk directly from a local source.

I was born/raised in UK and we used to get milk delivered in bottles daily (milkman), the RULE in our house was that Mom got the top of the milk!!! The full cream that settled on the top. If any of us kids dared to take it, there would be consequences...

So jealous. I need to find a dealer 😂.

Wife is from Ireland. She’s shared similar stories and brought her butter making skills with her. I’m just the lucky beneficiary.

My mum was from Ireland too - Cork.

Galway.

Pan toasting is so dang good.

Yes, so much better this way. But most days I'm lazy and pop it in the toaster oven. Shhhhh...

I love my toaster oven. Especially when it's powered by electricity that my system has captured from the sun.

#winning !

This is the dream. One day hopefully I'll be as cool as you 😎

Considering I'm not cool, that's a very low bar. You're already at least eleventy billion times cooler than I am.

😂 love that other people use eleventy billion. We're participation trophy level cool then lol. 🏆🏅

Bwahahahaha! That's such a high level of cool! 😁

Cool adjacent if you will 🤣

Wait i have been sitting at this table for a year, and now you say this isn’t the cool table….

Crap

Sorry Dan, you're at the actual cool table with the real trophies. 😂😂

JC, woman!!!! 🤤

Yep bread porn today 🔥🔥

lol
