Do you think consuming seed oils is healthy or unhealthy?
Discussion
Nuance to the point. It's largely how the oils are processed, but I don't see what the benefit of consuming them is.
The polyunsaturated fatty acid molecules themselves are hazardous. Because of their many double bonds, even if you process them in such a way that they don’t oxidize, they will invariably oxidize *inside* the body, which creates harmful byproducts.
The alleged benefit is that you can substitute it for saturated fat, which raises LDL, aka the sole cause of heart disease according to The Science™️.

Fair points. The hardest part is avoiding them. They put this shit in almost everything.
I think maybe unhealthy 🤔
Dr Cate thinks they’re responsible for 80% of American healthcare spending https://drcate.com/
Completely unhealthy
"Seed oils are highly processed oils extracted from seeds such as soybeans, corn, rapeseed, cottonseed, sunflower and safflower seeds. After the seeds are harvested, they are heated to extremely high temperatures that oxidize the fatty acids creating byproducts that are harmful to our health.
High amounts of omega-6 fatty acids are found in these oils which become inflammatory compounds when used to cook and in our bodies, playing a significant role in chronic inflammatory diseases and a large variety of other skin, gut and weight issues."
I recommend to use coconut oil.
Unhealthy. No doubt about it.
