Just went to a coffee place that claims to be “the most sustainable coffee place in the city”. I ask the barista for a latte and I say regular milk. She looks at me weird as she asks me: “what is regular milk for you” and I laugh. She makes a serious face and I realise she’s actually expecting and answer hahahahahaha

I tell her cow milk and she’s like, ok that is 60 cents extra hahahahahahah

Okay…hahahaha strange 💜🫂

Abahahahah it’s too funny 🤷🏻‍♀️🌸💖✨

Hahahaha yes 🤣🌸✨💜

That’s actually bananas 🤣

Righttt hahahahah

"Plant milk doesn't exist, lady."

Hahahahahha I was very close to saying that abahahahha

what do you mean with 6 cents extra? Didn't you order a Latte? A latte comes with milk. it's basically just milk and an espresso. 60 cents extra.. I pay €1 for my cafe con leche in any place here in Spain.

You're being SKAMMED!

Hahahahahah no 60 cents abahhahaha

I can’t wait to come back, only 9 more days and I’m in the sun again 🥰

Yeah sry. 6 cents was a typo. The world is so confused. Selling Latte but charging extra for the milk 🤦🏼‍♂️That's like selling weed but charging extra for the weed in it.

Hahahahhahaha lool🤣🤣🤣

"Plant-milk" tastes like shit.

Is it even milk?? Hahahahahah

I’ve never tasted plant milk or shit but this sounds accurate

I like heavy whipping cream in my coffee.

What kinda milk? is there any udder??

I guess plant “milk” is the new regular hahahahahhaha idk hahahahahha

Extra charge for real milk. Wow. We haven’t reached that bizarre inversion yet here, but I’ll assume it’s coming.

hahahahqhq idk might be my choice of the place but it's still so ridiculous 🤣

Maybe next time ask to see them milk the cow to confirm its origin.

Which reminds me of this gem from Portlandia.

🤣🤣🤣

Wait. *Cow milk* incurs an extra charge, not a vegan alternative?

Idk wtf they’re on hahahahaha

Lol what

Oh, lame!

😔😔

If you’re on FB, maybe search there. YouTube is ridiculous about this stuff.

unfortunately I'm not but I will look if up later :))) I won't forget

Maybe next time mention you are looking for a coffee without almond juice.

Lool hahahah 🤣🤣

Did she want to offer Soy Milk + Coffee mix? 😄

Milk comes from a mamal, Soy creates a juice. Don't let the marketers get to you

⚡️ for 🥛

🤣

Awww hahahahh thank youuu 🤣🤣🌸💖✨

Haha, sounds like you stumbled upon a barista who's taken sustainability to the next level! 🌱👩‍🌾 I guess "regular milk" can mean different things to different people, but cow milk seems like a safe bet! 🤔…60 cents is a small price to pay for a sustainable latte. 😅☕️ #gotmilk #coffeeadict #latte

Hahahahaha yeah… and I’m not one to judge by appearance but she looks like that too, with her ashy grey looking skin… 😬

Oh my god, I started to read it and thought you made a joke.  It's real ....

Why would you even go there, tho?

Hahahaha that’s a really good question… They have good coffee beans and a nice balcony, I wanted to sit in the sun :)

weird _

Ahahhahaah me

Chances are you’re a kind and compassionate person, so you may be interested to know this: cows are forcefully impregnated to lactate; 9 months later, their children are taken away from them (they’re very maternal animals, so they’ll run after them, cry and bellow), their male babies are killed young and the females forced through the same tortuous process and constant exploitation of their bodies, year after year, until they’re no longer profitable—at which point all of them are killed against their will, at less than half their normal lifespan.

If your values indicate this is a messed up system you wouldn’t want to support, some good resources include: WatchDominion, Earthling Ed, Gary Yurofski, Challenge22. All best ✌💚

Omgg I really didn’t need to cry rn…. 🥺

And that’s from just hearing about it. Imagine what it’s like to be in that position and be put through all of that. We only hear and see what they must endure with their bodies because of our actions. Your feelings show that you’re empathetic, so all that remains is to put that in practice and align your actions with your values. Being vegan is the only practical solution to not fund animal abuse.

And some PB milks are actually quite good – the oat ‘barista’ ones in particular. Your taste buds also adapt, to the point where you end up getting the same amount of pleasure from products that don’t involve cruelty to innocent, defenceless individuals.
